Dear all, sorry if this has been discussed b4.
I am thinkin of changing the brand of my puppy's food. I have been using the same brand given by the breeder. The poops smells and my friend told me that this brand caused the fur of her MS to change colour . She is now feeding Nutri Edge "Lamb & Rice" . Jason recommended "Nutro Choice Lamb & Rice." What do u guys feed yr dogs ? This post has been edited by rkkyong: Oct 14 2009, 01:04 PM |

[When Scottie was a pup, I fed him Nutri Edge Chicken & Rice (same as breeder). After a while, he developed some bad itchies so I switched him to lamb & rice of another brand (can't seem to recall what it was though
[/quote] I tried starting Max on Nutram last weekend . I added only 1/4 portion of Nutram to his dog food. Immediately he had diarrhea (very watery) after 1 meal. Luckily I didnt follow pet shop's advice ie to add 1/2 portion !!! I think I better try only when he is older . The new dog food is now sealed in a MILO tin This post has been edited by rkkyong: Oct 19 2009, 04:46 PM |

QUOTE(yikhoe @ Oct 21 2009, 05:58 PM) seems like a fun gathering... My vet told me that I can only bring Max out 2 weeks after the 3rd vaccine. Max is barely 2 weeks into his 2nd vaccine. As such, I dont think it is very safe .....my boy is only 2 months old, not too sure if it's safe to bring it out so early... Otherwise I would like Max to meet Hiro . I wonder if they can remember each other !!! I also wonder if we can locate the 3rd sibling Anyway, I might drop by (without Max) if it is at Desa Parkcity as the location is pretty convenient for me . It looks ok to me but my neighbour (who owns 2 silky terriers) was shocked at the size of my 3 month old schnauzer. FYI, Max was the biggest and most active in a litter of 3 puppies !!! Sigh. I always tot tat Max is a pretty good n smart dog. From day one he didnt make much noise at night. He will make noise when i put him back into his cage n even then will stop after a while if i ignore him. He will make noise when he hears me n it is feedin time. Or when he wants to go out to poo n pee. Like tat neighbour also complain and said my dog make noise 24/7.Even said tat i dont know how to look after the dog n never pacify the dog when it is making noise. But wat i read works ie Max keep quiet after a while if i ignore him. Anyway Max will get his 3rd vaccination 2day and after 2 weeks should be able 2 go out n start his obedience classes. Still undecided where to go tho. Most convenient location is ikano but tat is more

QUOTE(kerrie @ Nov 7 2009, 01:14 PM) fyi, the neighbour is a chinese !! aiyo, stressed out the whole weekend. i was trying to find a suitable place for the dog. at one point he ended up in a dog crate in my bedroom. but the sound of him scratching the bottom of the crate kept me awake. anyway, i think max is settled at his new sleeping place. slept 2 nights in row without any noise. the neoghbour must have made the stories up or is hearing things. actually the noise is made by max when he wants to go pee and poop or at before feeding time at 6 plus am. he sleep thru the night . but neighbor claims that the dog is making noise 24/7 . the most hurting bit is the accusation that i dunno how to keep a dog and if i know that dogs have to be sent for obedience classes . how to send b4 a dog is fully vaccinated !!!! another ang moh neighbour said max is pretty quiet unlike my previous yorkie poodle which i had to return to my friend after 3 days. that dog (an adult dog) was making noise day and night. I sort of know that . Well my toilet training is not exactly successful.
Max is being trained to pee and poop on a tray. Please advise me if I am doing it correctly. At regular intervals and after meals, he will be brought to a confined area where the tray is placed to pee and poop. Eventually I hope he will know to go there on his own, without the need for the "fencing" to confine him to the tray. I have tried removing the "fencing" but there have been accidents !! Maybe I will try again in a few weeks ' time !! Anyway, on Friday night (after complaint), I sort of built a "bungalow" in front of my house. It consisted of 5 pcs of play pen . Within the perimeter , I placed a dog crate (with door removed) and the pee/poo tray. My wife and I peeped a few times throughout the night and saw Max going in and out of the crate. He ended up sleeping in the open. He also "kicked" his koala bear and toys out of the crate. He made a bit of noise that night (just soem sounds every few hours) as he was not used to it. Damn stressful man as I was worried that it will disturb teh neighbours Anyway, we put him back into his 3 foot cage to sleep the next night and he slept thru the night. I dare not let loose in the hse as yet as he will chew my stuff and is also not fully toilet trained. I guess I will have to delay getting another dog for the time being . Phobia already !! Neighbor wont be able to hear max now as she stays at the back. I never actually had the chance to see her as she comes back very late every day. She so happened to be around the past few weeks. mom in law told me tat max was so cute this afternoon. He went str8 to the back after peein without knowing it is out of bounds now. I counted about 15 dogs along my row n the row opposite.

QUOTE(Nitrous @ Nov 13 2009, 02:03 PM) Anyway, I would like to ask the MS owners here, what food do you give your furkids? I m feeding him Nutram which is not great, and would like to switch to something better. I m getting a bit worried as he is losing some weight recently. I don't see anything wrong with him, as he laps up his food eagerly, and seems to be quite normal to us. I wanted to get him Innova Puppy food, but somehow I could not find a place that stocks that, including SS2 pet supplies. Can someone pls let me know where I can get it? Appreciate your inputs.. Actually what do u dislike about it ? |
