My colleague's pair of shoes was in tatters so I offered to do it up for him. It was quite in a state when he brought it over. It should be in the bin really.

Before

A bit of clean up with renovateur and conditioning

user posted image

After

Some cream polish to minimise the scuffings and wax polish to bring out the shine. Decided to do a light mirror shine on the toe cap but didn't want to over egg it. Wasn't quite sure if he want it that shiny and I didnt want to spend too much time on it.

Hi guys
Didn't know there's such an extensive discussion on leather shoes

I've a question, is there a way to reduce the creases on a leather shoe without a hot gun? I'm not even sure whether the leather'll turn black with heat or not

Wore the shoe for a week and first day I wore it, I saw it folds differently compared to the other side of the shoe

Nope just the usual mid tan shoe cream. For this I use Dasco cream polish.
As for the wax I use a mix of various Saphir browns however for the toe I've added dark a light touch of dark brown wax rather than black as it can be too dark.

@nairud I would avoid using hot gun on your shoe. Creases is inevitable however the best you could do is to use shoetrees and alternate your leather shoes.

Based on the picture, I think the shoe size is wrong (possibly a size too big). FYI, leather shoes crease. Bad creasing is what we try to avoid. Heat gun method is very risky, I advise
don't.

Yeah creasing is normal. But that left pair does not look normal. Could be the quality of the leather me thinks.

Not much choice in Malaysia. There is one Carmina black whole cut Oxford at WJ & Co I think. Price about RM 2000. Other than that your only choice is probably Plal but not sure if they have whole cuts.

Personally not a fan of whole cuts. It looks too clean and sterile.

I guessed I just have to start somewhere. Managed to pick up this calf leather wing tip Goodyear welt at RM500 plus. Craftmanship is not fantastic, uneven color, but for the time being will do, good value though.

Nice. What brand and from where?

Don't knock the colour though. People are paying 6 times that to have 'artistic' uneven colours.

Is it the Nico Nerini mass drop? What is your feedback on it?

Nico Nerini, made in India. The material used seems legit, but workmanship is moderate if compare Carmina up close.

Fuh, super sharp eye. Will do a up close shot when I am available. The material used, welting, detail is seem legit as per the massdrop description. My impression is good, and recommend who need a place to begin with or want to get a beater. CP ratio wise is high and the only risk is getting the fit and it's a final sales which is not returnable.
