QUOTE(marver @ Aug 12 2017, 04:20 PM) Not quite the top tier mirror shine yet though. HahaQUOTE(niakulah @ Aug 12 2017, 04:38 PM) Yeah J. Fitzpatrick, got it on sale at 35% off, about RM 1,000. It's the Windermere in Mocha Calf. Actually it's now 50% off, but sizes are limited. Got 2 shoe trees too, his trees are more lasted than Carmina and Loake's. At RM 180 per pair after 20% off I think it's a pretty good deal. I'm still in HK at the moment and the Armoury sells one pair of Carmina shoe trees for RM 300... Edit: I just noticed I put the laces the wrong way in the top eyelet... Ruined the shot. Haha This post has been edited by QuickFire: Aug 12 2017, 06:31 PM |

QUOTE(Kelvw @ Aug 4 2017, 01:43 PM) My colleague's pair of shoes was in tatters so I offered to do it up for him. It was quite in a state when he brought it over. It should be in the bin really. I have a pair with condition exactly like this... only today that i was thinking that maybe it's time for me to buy a new pair of shoes... your post makes me rethink that maybe i can try to clean it up and give it a refresh look... gotta google up and get some homework done Before ![]() |

QUOTE(Kelvw @ Jul 5 2017, 01:10 AM) It's been on pavements before but it didn't do too bad. I guess it's the exposure to water/rain that messes it up. With the green dye, meaning i need to buy a green shoe polish for maintenance? Never came across green shoe polish. Here's the new Cheaneys I was thinking maybe something for rainy days with less maintence. Also I'm toying with the idea of getting a custom made Cheaneys on the 1 of 1 programme. ![]() |

Brands like Saphir do have green polishes and cremes. Not that you really need it. Well, maybe for hiding scuffs. If I had green casual shoes like that, I'd just condition and brush them. Maybe neutral polish if I feel like having a shine. |

Yup Niakulah is right, Saphir has got a huge range of colours including green cream polish. Anyway this particular Cheaneys has a polished leather hence I don't really need to put any polish on top. I just got to becareful not to scuff it, otherwise my polish won't do much to the leather. It's mainly for rainy days when the water will just slide off the surface I dropped by Crockett & Jones today to pick up the latest catalogue. Some really nice shoes will be coming out this new season, particularly the Gower Double monks. May consider a pair. They've even updated the paperbag with printed insides. Very nice touch. ![]() For those asking how I shine my shoes. Here's are some videos which may be useful. My process is very similar except for Pt.2 Presidential Shoe Shine pt.1 Presidential Shoe Shine pt.2 |

Saphir is a luxury for me, any other recommended conditioner, I am getting a tan shoe soon. |

I don't have any C&J but have a few pair of Carmina. Given the price difference and that most people seem to say the quality is about the same, and Carmina having some fantastic lasts... Not sure if I should give C&J a try. But that shot of that shoe is amazing. Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(cheefai7 @ Aug 23 2017, 09:05 AM) You can go for others, but I personally feel that would be false economy. I bought my Renovateur 3+ years ago. I have more than half left over. That is including my early days of good shoes, when I used a lot more than was necessary, and also more often than necessary. If you want something available locally, you can try Woly Dubbin. But it is a lot of work to apply properly on fine leathers. Best would be to rub it in, very sparingly, briskly with your bare fingers to generate heat to make it easier to absorb. I personally only use it on casual, thick, leather shoes like my boat shoes. |

Haha it's the other way around for me, difficult to find Carmina here except maybe over at Hackett stores which Carmina makes shoes for. I should give Vass a try as well. For conditioning, I sometimes use Bickmore Bick 4 Leather Conditioner which works quite well. |
