For those who like to massage his woman or vice versa, here is my recommadation:
The Sensual Massage Kit: Massage for Men and Women Instructional Video -- 2 disc set (blu-ray) Although the price is not the lowest in history, but this title just has price reduction. |

17 Again
There is actually a Back to the Future vibe to it. It is actually not too bad a movie.... if Zac Efron isn't Zac Efron... Am I making sense?? PQ is okay (not reference material) and AQ is NOT boomboompow. It is a comedy after all! |

A Few Good Men
Wow, have not seen this for a while, and was taken aback by how many big names are attached to this drama!!? Am a great fan of Rob Reiner (director of The Princess Bride). Also am still very impress with how the cast "brought it" to the movie, making this drama movie VERY engaging and entertaining. Good job Rob!! |

But on older CRT TVs that do not have HDCP composite/component do not work. SD DVD works from PS3 thru composite/component. Watching the main feature does not work. OK confirm 100% composite works on PS3 + BD.. Tried from Oppo BD Player to older CRT TV using component outs. The BD would not load. Could not even get the menu. Tried with DVD, all ok. Resolution was set to 480p. Not sure abt the PS3, need to check. Do let me know if it works on the PS3, would like to pass mine to my dad who has a older CRT. just tested mine playing ratatouille.. main movie.. looks like PS3 one upped oppo.. yay! QUOTE(Lone*Wolf @ Sep 23 2009, 03:32 PM) I still dun have confidence in $peedos. Firstly, its the price. Even with the B2F1 whatever, its still RM100 per title. Cheap or expensive, you decide. Secondly, like what Forest Gump said, titles there are like a box of chocolates. You will never know what (quality) the BDs you will get. The colour is brown, for all you know, it could be shite. But if RM100 per title for "new-release" title ok what...if compared to ordering one new-release title from Amazon using standard shipping. Summore no need to wait mah. Unless of course if there's no technical or content deficiencies on the $PEEDO version...hmmm... taking advice from Forrest eh? Good move... |

HDCP only applies to HD content via HDMI. All HDMI equipment used must comply to it (in other words, must know the "secret handshake"), if not you will not be able to watch BD. A few forumers had this problem back in the early days.
When composite is used, it downscales to standard resolution so the HDCP doesn't apply. |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Sep 23 2009, 11:46 PM) Actually, contrary to popular belief, the PS3 is a fantastic BD player. Its processing speeds is almost unpararelled and due to the fact that most movie mastering houses use this as the defacto BD player, most titles will have no problems playing on the PS3. PS3s only achillees heel was that it had a noisy fan, was a power hogger and it did not bitstream the HD audio codecs. With the release of the PS3 Slim, Sony fixed 2 out of the 3 main complaints. There is no way to bypass the fan issue, the processing power that the PS3 has really needs a good cooling system, hence the huge fan. The PS3 has no issue with image processing (it handles DVD upscaling better than most DVD players out there) and is very very good at sending out a clean problem free HD video (very calibration friendly). Really, unless you need a better audio processing system (dedicated 2 channel audiochannel, multichannel analogue, SACD, DVD-A) I would suggest the new PS3 slim to anyone out there! Also it doubles up as a media player as well. Hard to beat. If the fan noise does not annoy you, there is no reason to go for separates. |

In UK, it will be released on October 5th. |

Harry Potter Years 1-6 Giftset Announced
Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the 'Harry Potter Years 1-6 Giftset' to Blu-ray on December 8th. The set will only contain the single-disc releases of the first two films, and not the recently announced 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: Ultimate Edition' and 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' Blu-ray releases. Amazon UK will release this so-called "Giftset" one day earlier and price at £39.88. P/S: There are 7 discs inside. This post has been edited by low98944: Sep 24 2009, 03:06 PM |

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Sep 24 2009, 09:39 AM) I believe you're right, you need to use the new beta firmware. Crank 2 is also the same. BTW I do not have these 2 BDs to confirm. Also u own the Oppo as well? Region free? Bro, I don't own the oppo bdp. I wish I did. But, out of my budget. In fact, plannig to get one at the end of the year. Software sudah ada. |

QUOTE(low98944 @ Sep 25 2009, 09:44 AM) Maybe it is like DVD case, where those companies pass their movie to judges of said Oscar and those judges pass those movie to others and make a fortune. In this case, their pass the BD, maybe. those are DVd screeners..anyway so it means this file will have flashing black and white scenes, scrolling "property of XXX bros" words etc during the movie? |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Sep 25 2009, 09:24 AM) Yup... same case with dvds, it is always an "inside job", believe me. Those working at authoring/duplication department can make easy money when they got their hands early on the masters. Even if they sell it for 5K for each movie to Uncle Hoe's Syndicate Worldwide Holdings... |

This along with my Drunken Master II DVD were borrowed by my friend and never returned. Now I've lost contact with him. Any info on the specs? Is the original cantonese soundtrack included? Lossless? I might get this one. |

The release of Lord of the Rings Trilogy BD was never officially announced by Warners. But then again there was never an official announcement for the delay either. All originated from a so-called "insider".
WBShop is still listing it for 3rd November release, and still accepting pre-orders. A Blu-ray.com member wrote to them and received a reply. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=23...&postcount=2207 We might still get the trilogy this November (not me though, only extended edition for me). |

If all of us are TRUE Lord of the Rings die-hard fans... then we should be buying all versions available and money shouldn't be an issue
Added on September 26, 2009, 11:19 amBut having said that, I'd still prefer both versions to be included on one release; done via seamless-branching mode. But then again, New Line execs would say: Why do we want to sell only three, when we can sell six? This post has been edited by fadthil: Sep 26 2009, 11:19 AM |

FWIW, I hv been keepin track of tis ttl for a long time now n only recently was there sum activity .. in fact it used to be listed for sale from amz. uk itself n when it went dwn to 38% off - I was a trifle late in bitin de bullet n amz went off n changed their supply to Jersey Isle which effectively raised de price another 13% - only yesterday(or thereabouts) did they lower it to current price which made it worth my while.. Just Finished watching Red Cliff 1 and 2.
PQ and AQ are good. Point of interest, in the opening scene of Red Cliff 2, the soldiers at Cao Cao camp were opening the gate to the said camp, and what do you see at the bottom of the heavy wooden gate? Modern Car Roda to help with the opening of the gate! Only 1080 resolution can you see this! (If you blink your eyes during the scene, you would miss it!!) Wow, the Chinese were really ahead of their times!! |

i'm not the most intelligent of our species, but my random guess is that it got deleted because, maybe, in one of his deleted posts (which was quoted in verbatim by ar188 in post #265 and left untouched by the moderators, which in itself is ironic and funny), he had referred to a reproductive body part of the female anatomy in a somewhat crude but often used slang. The word in question rhymes with AUNT and is often used by English-speaking natives in the UK when throwing abuse at millionaire footballers who fail to score goals 6 yards from the goal mouth.

You mean this one right...What's so surprising about aunts leaking out BD rip few weeks or even months in advance? The title has to be finalised and produced months before the actual release date, and it only takes a few minutes for some insider to rip it and upload it. |

Ironic indeed, as it was duplicated in ar118's reply ... And you dun need to bring in Liverpool players as an example ... |

Finally got my 300 The Complete Experience.
For the first time, I am contemplating buying a PS3 remote to watch a bluray disc. The multiple paths when viewing the feature makes the remote a necessary tool, as changing paths needs you to select different "color buttons". Was too greedy and kept changing the paths everytime they "lights up", and too much info within them. Will need to watch the movie a few times to get all the info. 3 times using the different paths as above, 1 time via the PiP bluescreen commentary, and a last time via the audio commentary. If you add the need to watch the movie on its own, you will need to sit thru the movie 6 times in total..... Worth the admission price if you are a huge fan or just a fan of movie making.... but be warned that there are way too much info for a casual viewer.... Sheet.... donno how to post pics here.... the BD is in book hard cover, with Leonidas's Helmet slightly lifted and highlighted to make it seem very 3D.... very cool... |

QUOTE(arremie @ Sep 29 2009, 05:54 PM) I don have the regular version leh..... i read some reviewers saying the transfer was the exact same one?? U pinjam me yr regular version to compare lo.... Anyway, due to the director's "crush' technique (where the shadow blacks are "crushed" to make them totally black - like inking a comic), the PQ will look darker and "noisier" than other pristine HD images from other movies. My eyes still cant get used to seeing noise on the images.... |

Or it is a cheating. However, I got a refund - so it is acceptable. But I am very dissapointed that there was no check (before the dispatch) if anything is included! Myers "Film fans are the modern escape... (Newcastle/ England) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) The films, are mindless entertainment, the best as in many cases is the first....they progresively get worse after this and even the return of vin deisel isnt enough to save the fourth one. As Blu rays they are excellent, picture is great and the sound quality for the fourth one I would rank as one of my best Blu Rays so far and I have 175. But my major dissapointment was that I am a bit of a collector and this blu did not come with the stickers or magnets mentioned above although the films are pakaged nicely i was very unhappy that they were not inside!!! Make sure yours are (if your a freak like me) |

Tested Drunken Master II last night. One word, LAZY. Lazy PQ, lazy AQ, lazy everything. They even wrongly put the audio as Dolby TrueHD in the menu, it's actually DTS-HD MA!
But the PQ is not as bad as I thought it would be. Looks OK, certainly much better than DVD. Not bad. But the English dub is quite annoying, though after few minutes I did get used to it. What's worse to the dub is the sound effects which is tamed a bit, those anime-like fighting sound is gone. And music, some mat Salleh has re-done it which I think changes the whole experience. Simply said, this version has been Americanized. Added on September 30, 2009, 8:52 amI lost my Wilson basketball when a Fedex plane crashed into the Pacific, 9 years ago. Is this the lowest price ever?
Please note that the price of The Ultimate Bourne Collection [Blu-ray] [2002] has decreased from £32.98 to £29.98 since you placed it in your Shopping Basket. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail pages. |

QUOTE(arremie @ Sep 30 2009, 01:59 PM) Quota from IMDB: Contrary to what someone else wrote: "Men fall into pit and get eaten by insects", this is not true. The contributor must have been confused by a historical note that when "King Kong" was previewed in 1933, there was a scene like this, but it was deemed too graphic and was deleted before widespread release. In the 2005 remake, this scene was recreated. Trust me, this does not occur in the 1933 original film. The fights between Kong and the dinosaurs on Skull Island are somewhat violent, but not excessively by today's standards. I believe for children aged 2 and up, would be fine. "Men fall into pit and get eaten by insects" - Very scary. Scary in 1933 standard. |

BTW, Anyone can comment on the PQ/AQ of the Infernal Affairs Trilogy? Also anyone already tested the Once Upon a Time in China as yet? There are some reports that indicate that the Once Upon a Time in China and Police Story from HK are upscaled DVDs instead of remastered from original as HD. I am buying this:-
![]() with all these review on the audio.....prepare for my new sub coming From The Digital Bits:- QUOTE For home theatre enthusiasts, Akira on Blu-ray brings another true revelation to the table in the form of its soundtrack. For the first time ever, a digital movie soundtrack can be said to equal the very best the original master tapes have to offer. Recorded at an astounding 192khz/24-bit audio resolution - which is 4 times the sampling rate of a typical Blu-ray Disc - Akira's new Japanese TrueHD 5.1 audio takes up an astounding 12mbps of the BD's data rate all by itself! (For the record, that's almost as much as the video on Warner's Batman Begins Blu-ray). Without a doubt, this is THE audio Blu-ray demo disc for the foreseeable future. So for all those of you that received new speakers for Christmas... your holy grail BD has arrived. The English dubbed track was only created at 48Khz/16-bit, and retains that resolution in its own lossless TrueHD 5.1 presentation. Finally, the original Japanese theatrical mix is presented in LPCM, encoded as Dolby Surround. For longtime fans of the film, note that the Streamline dub is NOT included, quite possibly due to licensing issues, as MGM currently owns the Streamline assets through their acquisition of Orion. If getting the dub were even possible, it would likely be far more expensive than it's worth. From DVD Talk:- QUOTE Sound: Both the original Japanese track, now in a stunning Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mix, as well as the similarly excellent English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mix, offer pretty close to reference quality audio. Akira is a riot of sound effects, from the opening nuclear explosion, to motorcycles roaring between channels, to Tetsuo's ultimate frightening transformation. Both of these soundtracks offer incredible separation and clarity, with a wealth of LFE and other ambient effect scattered throughout the channels. Dialogue is always clear and directionally placed. Also offered are Japanese tracks in PCM 2.0 and DD 5.1. English and Japanese subtitles are available. From Blu-ray.com QUOTE If I could pick one area where this Blu-ray truly shines, it would be the audio. The default Japanese language track is presented in Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound. There are also Japanese tracks in Linear PCM 2.0 and Dolby Digital 5.1, but I only spent a brief time with these inferior tracks. Getting back to the TrueHD track, this is easily the most noticeable improvement I’ve heard in the transition to lossless sound. It was as if a blanket was lifted from each of my speakers, and clarity took an instant jump. Spatial separation is dynamic, dialogue is appropriately balanced, and there was an unbelievable level of clarity throughout the film. This is one of those tracks that uses every speaker to envelope you in the on-screen action. A helicopter pan across the soundstage is appropriately loud, but never noisy, and the rumble of the film’s many explosions resonates with an oomph you’ll feel in your chest. In the booklet included with the disc, there is a lengthy discussion of a theory known as the hypersonic effect, and how it was utilized in remastering the audio track for this Blu-ray release. I can’t say I understood everything included in the 10-page explanation, but I did find it interesting that the film's original composer, Shoji Yamashiro, is also a professor at the National Institute of Multimedia Education, and has published books on “Sound Ecology”. His studies have led to the theory of the hypersonic effect, and he was instrumental in remastering the high bit-rate TrueHD track for this Blu-ray release. Rounding out the sound options is a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track dubbed in English, which was on par with the quality of the Japanese TrueHD track. I think for those who don't know how to remove the blue residue should buy more BD's! Obviously not enough experience. Those who do are the elites or almost elites. I also don't know. This is indeed a good tip for peasants like me! Thanks!

Planet Earth PQ great too but audio only Dolby Digital.Added on October 1, 2009, 11:46 am The Universe series the PQ/AQ not so great. I'm looking more for the content on this one. QUOTE(ar188 @ Oct 1 2009, 12:27 PM) Yeap, but I'll remove the security white sticker at the side (where you open the casing) and/or at the bottom of some Disney's older title... because those are ugly and redundant! I also like to keep the sticker(s) on the wrapper. I've made a collection of all those (even since dvd days) and paste it elsewhere as a collage... what a freak, hehe |

I've made a collection of all those (even since dvd days) and paste it elsewhere as a collage... what a freak, hehe yeah the side white tape, already phased out cos it's dem annoying.. and the glue on that white strip is very strong.. some of those type of strip I also can't remove the residue, I think have to resort to chemical.anyway as for the secutiry tag.. the square black one and the rectangular one (with 2 metal strip inside) square black one, try to peel carefully preserving as much original glue on the square sticker.. then what ever residue left on the blue cover, just dab back this black sticker on the blue cover, and try to pull them apart, more glue on the blue cover will come off.. do repeatly until fully gone.. as for the thin rectangular strip, the best way is single pass , carefully pull it off together with the metal inside... that;s the cleanest fastest way.. with this new thin rectangular strip removed, you can also use it to dab on the other square residue and try to get more glue out from that sqaure patch also.. |

Its a 10++ yr old HK movie that uses very bad film stock back then.anyone getting MONSOON WEDDING, WINGS OF DESIRE? Can I check with you guys, what is the difference between amazon's Live Free or Die Hard with the Die Hard that is selling at Speedy Video?
It is stated that amazon's Live Free or Die Hard have 50GB, but Die Hard selling at Speedy only covers 25GB. Does it make a difference? |

I don't know the real difference... but there are 3 different things that I know:It is stated that amazon's Live Free or Die Hard have 50GB, but Die Hard selling at Speedy only covers 25GB. Does it make a difference? 1. One is called "Live Free or Die Hard" and the other "Die Hard 4.0" 2. Bruce Willis' face on the cover is different angle between the two 3. One of the foreign language track on the $PEEDO version is in HD audio, unlike the US one which is not (can't remember which one though) ![]() |

Not too long ago Michael Bay said that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on BD will have shifting ratio between IMAX and normal 35mm shots, just like The Dark Knight.
Now Walmart has put up a flyer that they're exclusively selling "2-Disc Big Screen Edition" (which refers to IMAX). Nelson from MichaelBay.com Forum Admin has also confirmed the Walmart exclusive. But he didn't tell any details yet about what makes it exclusive. Walmart: ![]() Amazon/Others: ![]() The version that was released on IMAX is 1 minute longer. So some say, all editions of the BD will have shifting ratio, but the Walmart exclusive has that extra minute. While others say only the Walmart exclusive has shifting ratio, but all the other release will only be 2.35:1 which means mean all the IMAX shots will be cropped further to 2.35:1 instead on 1.78:1 (IMAX original aspect ratio is 1.43:1). If it's the latter, then we'll have to find alternative ways because Walmart doesn't ship internationally. This post has been edited by aiman04: Oct 2 2009, 07:27 AM |

The contents are identical if not mistaken but yeap, the US packaging more umph with the magnetic flap and it is more robust. But if price is a factor... UK's one is the better deal. Now Walmart has put up a flyer that they're exclusively selling "2-Disc Big Screen Edition" (which refers to IMAX). Nelson from MichaelBay.com Forum Admin has also confirmed the Walmart exclusive. QUOTE(arremie @ Oct 2 2009, 03:34 PM) None of my BD arrives yet. I donno why Make complaint only after your estimate delivery date given to you has expired. That's what I did with Amazon US most of the time when it's late... but they'll reply informing you they're not going to send a replacement order that soon and also want you to wait one more month before your next report because it is on its way and may arrive between then.. I have orders as early as Sept 3rd from Amazon UK. Tomoro one month already. Not sure whether should wait some more or should I make a complaint |

I saw District 9 in de cines n only de beginnin is there de shaky vidcam bits cos the story plays out like a docu as de star gets interviewed while on de job.. Its nuthin like Cloverfield which I couldnt finish n sold it of asap - in spite of killer bass notes.. D9 Sp Efx is pretty gud thou there are sum ripoff bits like de robo-extender from aliens/star wars.. overall tis is a mus hv in most sci fi fans.. Cheers D |
