I sent a "love letter" to Playasia and asking for the location of my orders, their said their need 3 weeks to investigate with HK's post office.  doh.gif  Anyway, still faster than Amazon US which take 1 month to investigate.  laugh.gif

By the way, today US exchange rate very nice o. Now at RM3.4600 to US$1.00.  No one want to take this weak USD advantage to order more BDs?  brows.gif  About 1 week ago, the exchange rate is around RM3.5++ to US$1.00.  whistling.gif

I already filed complaint for my 2nd Sept order and Amazon UK asked me to wait until 12th Oct. So basically need to wait 40 days before next action rolleyes.gif

This 12th Oct I will file another complaint for my 12th Sept order if it's not here. Even F&F Steelbox suppose to be here on 1st Oct also nowhere to be seen. What the heck's going on with our system. I strongly believed Amazon is not at fault.
*
really pity you, dont think amazon is at fault, they have their tracking no.

better be safe than sorry, never order any items 1 month before any festive season!!!

hi guys,
i really hope someone here can help me on my problems..
ok actually there was this one time, in a shopping complex, there was this big lcd tv showing batman 2(bluray)
the picture was really like popping out u know, how should i say. it's like the actor is like 3D or something.(but not the holographic 3D)
its like the images were like popping out of the lcd screen!! like some cardboad being paste on top it is almost like fake already.
my question is,
a) what kind of lcd tv that can produce that kind of effect?
b) is it some kind of technologies? like 200Hz motion something, i forgot or
c) is it due to some tweak in existing normal lcd tv.

please help me im such a noob as im planning to buy 1 lcd tv and i want to have that kind of effect when i watch my bluray later.
thanks guys!!!
*
its the picture DEPTH you're looking for

take a look at the makes of sony, Panasonic, JVC, Philips, Toshiba

i forgot which shop!!!!
but latest one, i saw in aeon jusco keramat, this LG lcd tv with 200hz motion flow produce that kind of 3D effect!!
eventhough it is playing a DVD!!! Really!! i double check the bluray player and it is really a dvd because the picture is not that sharp
but the actor appear to have that popping effect.

hopefully someone can really reveal what is actually making the picture to have that 3D kind of effect.
*
so if LG gives you the Picture DEPTH as you think its 3D effect
search no further, its Reality, you found the right LCD

yeah!!! i think that the word!!! picture depth is it????
something like that i believed, where the actor and the background seem to have that depth it makes the front object
appearing to popped out of the screen. Correct me if i am wrong, but im not sure what is the effect term is called??

all sifu, please help me....if possible what is the best brand for lcd tv that has this ability of the depth thingie.

confession time.... seriously i dont have the ori version

i just have the Rm15 DVD version only( 2yrs already ),

but the effect is really there... believe me!!!

QUOTE(fadthil @ Oct 21 2009, 09:20 PM)
Picture Depth? I've never heard it myself....is that the effect because of a high-definition presentation or an effect applied to the LCD?  hmm.gif
*
no no its not like that, get one yourself and you will know what i mean
QUOTE(anfieldude @ Oct 21 2009, 09:24 PM)
Put any LCD/Plasma into Dynamic mode, turn up the contrast, sharpness and colour and u will get the 3D effect. However, when u bring the display home and put it ur living room u will be lucky if ur eyes don't pop out.

LCDs especially the ones with 200Hz, 240Hz convert the film to more video like that causes this effect.

However, to get the correct 3D effect, u need to calibrate a display and make sure the white balance and especially gamma is correct. This in itself will bring out the 3D image due to better shadow detail and depth. And with proper calibration, ur light levels will be more controlled.
*
yea... you could be right bro,
but if if you really are 100% correct... this "Speedway" disc really brings out the calibration skill in a person and also the whole chain of video system linkages from source to LCD biggrin.gif

i have tested hundreds of disc in my library, but nothing really comes close to this...
hacken lee concert in seoul, and Tsai ching video clips disc are of similar pic depth presentation
notice the Mic in front of face and hand (fingers grapsing the Mic)

soree just wanna share something ( i know tis is BD thread )

a decade n a half ago, Picture Depth is only noticeable on certain Convectional TV, like Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba,

even for the past 3 years certain plasmas' and LCDs' does stand out on this effect.. but now as tech years goes by, mostly all LCDs' Plasmas' projectors' does display this effect now

if you calibrate the settings correctly, the picture Depth really stands out... as i recalled, the settings are not on dynamic where.. one, boost up everything. its a very soothing picture you get that blends very well with the enviroment, maybe lightings does play a certain effect.. smile.gif

so how many feet or meters is the picture depth ?  biggrin.gif
*
sorry la bro AR188....

if want to be precise.... maybe can calculate and measure ( joking only)
think its the illusion created in our human brain that tells us, there is a depth difference, once you see it you know its different

Bro rizal77.... we look like aliens ...haha haha, ( but we know what we are distinguishing biggrin.gif )

think we can change profession to be a LCD certified endorsement video consultant... haha
those LCD/plasmas' that have our endorsement has optimum performance rclxms.gif

this is the opening sequence from "Super Speedway" ( glad i''m still on BD topic )pic in reality is very very much better...

confessions again :::: > i believe electronics do differ, everyone jawdrop when see this phenomena on my frens 50' 3LCD Sony Projection TV,
but when i got mine on the same disc ( the effect is not that great as his, well maybe his is wega and mine Bravia or maybe the lightings)
so if anyone looking for LCD, and if that particular one is just simply outstanding from others,... JUST GRAB THAT !!! smile.gif

so if anyone got their hands on this BD please give a review
not now...@16.99 just too expensive for me just yet, (as i can really do w/o as i know what is expected)

gracious..

this picture depth thing is interesting... is it only apparent in IMAX shots?

there are a lot of movies with the depth thingy, like i say last time you really need to select TV to see the difference, ( maybe the encoded software by camera were there.. all along) it jsut need the right electronics to project it out beautifully and not artificially

any request for the blue indy race car images, for picture depth dont mind giving it a snap to upload images,
you know la some ppl might say me long winded la... hehe
