which model specifically? the expensive nikon 1224 isnt good as a much cheaper tokina 1116 proving that expensive doesnt necessarily mean better

Do you guys facing any problem with the memory card?
I am using 16G Kingston Class 4 SDHC... Always when i take up to 600photo... It will pop up err msg - CHA.... It is actually the memory card error... After i change another normal SD Card... it can continue to take again... Is this memory card prob or camera prob? i check thru online... quite a number of user kena this problem...

My Sandisk Ultra II 16GB has no such issues.
I can just continue snapping until it fills up the card, which will get me about 900-1000 shots.

my head & wallet already got sigma's name on it, but now alpha_company mention it.. the pricing is quite tempting..

the sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 & tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 is basically the same price? i didnt know this

Frankly, i like sigma because of HSM hehehe...and I dont mind the f/2.8...it doesnt really matter to me..esp for UWA..

tom_k3nt: could it be ur kingston problem? im using Toshiba class 6 16gb and i have encounter anything like that thus far..

I had bad exp with 1750 so im have prejudice against third party lenses..so sorry..i like tamron built but sigma's color (1750 vs sigma 1770)

I dont trust kingston at all..

go Sandisk or Transcend.. i recommend getting two 4GB Transcend Class 6 SDHC, each at around rm50. dont gamble on just one 16GB..if its lost/broken, all your images will go away with it

It is HIGHLY advisable to reformat memory card after transfer of large amounts of images to computer to prevent errors..

i reformat mine after each assignment/work/outing..

does anyone here own both the sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 & tokina 11-16mm f/2.8?

I always avoid removing cards that is why i bought 16gb hahhaha dun have to remove and put in...because sd looks fragile wei..but then personal preferences lar......
i always format my card after i loaded it into my pc too

The 11-16mm is really, really short. As much as you can love the f2.8, the range is sadly quite lacking.

Anyway, shared this in my other "home", now here it is and it is not taken with D90, just thought I'll share

From the reviews i've read/seen on the net, these two are recommended :

- Nikon AF-S 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF DX - around RM3000
- Tokina AT-X 116 Pro DX 11-16mm - around RM23xx-24xx

i dont really take the f2.8 and HSM into account because its an uwa..not tele...but IQ is most important

my friend's sigma 10-20mm's grip rubber (the one that at zoom ring) already loosen up. its actually we can call it 'tertanggal' already.. but the lens still nothing to worry bout, still can focus perfectly without doubt, the image taken also got no compromise!

Wow ... no VR no internal motor. Build quality very solid. The AF/MF clutch oh so nice. Very little distortion, very sharp. Wah ... I think I like this one . Sum more got nice distance scale . Only thing is the filter size is 77mm. Die la if wan to get R72 .

yup...no worries about VR/AFS motor spoiling..no need vr on an uwa anyways..

but one thing i like is that the lens wont physically go in/out when zooming, which is very2 good. can last better in rain/moisture
