Yeah I understand that original producs are better than 3rd party. but the price of sb900 is double that of di866  doh.gif

and it is almost 4 times more expensive than di622.  but i think i will filter out 3rd party products. so i'm left with sb900, 800 or 600.

higher guide number means it has the PAWAAA! so if the location has a very high ceiling, or ur subject is far far away, it might still be able to reach. commander is the ability to command other flashes to fire.

Power is Nothing Without Control.

Uncle Ken showed one video on his site. I got curious and dig up the link.

These guys used old Speedlights, SB-28s meant for film cameras. They use radio triggers. They also shoot flash using manual mode AND they don't shoot at full power. I think their pictures are awesome. Perhaps those of you who only buy ONE SB-900 should rethink the way you approach flash photography. whistling.gif Go and check out the videos. icon_rolleyes.gif

yeap...thats right. you have to know how to use your flash regardless of how powerful it is. However, sb900 has the power when u really need it. And with great power comes great price.

hey guys, i plan to get an external flash. but i'm undecided which one to go for.

should i get nissin di866 or nikon sb900 or something lower range? budget wise i can't really say, i'im willing to pay for something that will be useful. most of the shots i take are portrait, buildings, etc not really into specific shots.

pls advise. thanks in advance.

im satisfied with SB900. first get, i have overheat issues. now i dont thnk i hv overheat issue anymore. just learn the EV sensor on speedlite in TTL mode. smile.gif

3rd party is for those who has tight budget. but it also differ to people in term of 'price vs result'. some say di866 better then SB900 coz can get 2 and play CLS. some say SB900 better for everything.

SB900 rocks~! last time i heard SB800 also has the EV sensor for TTL mode...

Items back up for sale smile.gif Anyone still interested?

You are looking at D90 with Phottix Grip (minus D90 strap and manual - lost it), 50mm f1.8 (3 months old), 18-70mm f3.5-4.5 (used, not sure of age, bought from YL used, no box, no warranty, just the lens and hood), SB-600 (age of item unsure as bought used, estimated more than 2 yrs old), 67mm B+W CPL filter, 8GB card, extra batt and misc items. - RM3700

Just a note, spooky tested the flash and it seems underpowered. But I went home and tested out it in my room and it seems ok. Not too sure what happened at the Curve, so you can test it and see for yourself smile.gif
