This is by no means a great picture, but I think it shows off 2 things the Tokina 11-16 excels at, low light photography of massive objects.

actually the tokina 11-16 f/2.8 i don't really use the f/2.8 always f/5.6 for my minimum. Even with f/2.8 it doesn't make much bokeh coz it's UWA lens. I just love the clarity that's why i bought this lens..

do u thnk 200mm is enuf to take the pict?
*
Ofcoz enough! Just that you need to do cropping when reach back home. laugh.gif

Depends on how high they fly la... fly 10,000 feet high even 300mm also can't shoot.. In airshow im sure they will fly as low as they can..

lol...if u insist like tht..then i 'no word to say'.. biggrin.gif There are reason why there is commander mode for the higher end flash.
*
Haha. Joking only la. Actually different people got different needs. For me sb-600 is good enough for me. Coz i dont really use flash. From beginning I'll spend more on lens first.

I just got my Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 VC yesterday. havent really test it yet.

Just bought a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 non VC. Did some test shot with it.  smile.gif
Overall is not bad for a walkaround lens, but i guess i will love 35mm f1.8 more if i got chance to test it.

But some how i get out of focus issue on this picture... the focus point is placed on figurine's head.
i took 2 shots at the same spot but still getting similar result, i wonder is this caused by environment lighting or my lens got problem or it just happen on all tamron 17-50.  rclxub.gif

I believe you were standing too close to the subject. laugh.gif You must understand your lens specs. The cloesest focus is 0.27meter/10.2 inch is about 1 feet less. Give it a try again. If problem still persist remove all the filter. If still persists then try manual focus.

pattern metering?

this is nothing to do with metering... because he use large aperture make the cat head got shallow depth-of-field.
