hmmm, i think the 3500 is not necessary.. i just wan a nice design, end of story =) however, it also depends of wat kind of game u play.. some need it cuz they need to be fast. if play strategy game, rpg or online games, no need much ba... just FPS like CS and Quake need it

Who needs 3500++ dpi anyway? FPS games are best played at 450dpi with 1.5 sensitivity setting (provided you have a HUGE mousepad), and playing MMOs at 1600dpi at 3 sensitivity feels fast enough already. Unless you have a huge monitor, why would anyone want that unnecessary dpi? Or you guys are too lazy to move the mouse too much, is it?

hmm agree with you both. 2000dpi is more than enough for me. with 19" monitor. i play warcraft 3 competitively and also alot of FPS. dont think FPS needs such high dpi as well. i think its more of marketing hype. just my 2 cents blush.gif

Actually, it's the other way around; FPS games need precision hence the low sensitivity options, but some gamers use two profiles namely one for low sens (precision) and another for hi sens (fast turning speed). And MMOs, RPGs, RTSes use med to hi sens.

That's why gaming mats come in different versions too; take the Goliathus Control and Speed. You guess for yourself which is suited for which type of games.

That's why I really like the DA; the price borders on reasonable, the design was only second to Steelseries Ikari (damn comfy), and the settings are highly tweakable. Just i'd really like it if I can also tweak it's weight.

erm...... lolz.... i use 900dpi only... cuz if dota use too high, very hard to click creeps when farm, somemore when fightin or war, very hard to click or point at one place.

Different user different preferences.
Some like high dpi some like low.
I jump from 1,000 > 1,800 > 3,200. Now use back low feels awkward.

let's just say having higher dpi being more future proof. who knows when you going to upgrade your monitor.

Now that DA 2nd edition came out, will they sell the 1st edition for discounted price drool.gif ?

WAA!!so sexy leh!!

cos was all just rumors before from razerguy etc - hes only confirmed one thing - no mechanical keyboard from razer sad.gif
(
and i was only told got new DA coming but with only braided wire...tho that rumor was also floating around for a few weeks before.
tho at least now its an infra-red sensor, tho at 3500dpi i wouldnt know what to do with it.
im also not exactly the biggest fan of the DA shape, and i wouldve preferred if the new DA had the Mamba shape...but noooooo...why mess with their best selling mouse rite?
but at least ffs upgrade the scroll wheel to whats on the newer mouses now and include synapse.

heck, i still play FPS at 800x600 even tho i can set it higher.
i cant play properly with it higher since im so used to 800x600.
u gimme a 24" or whatever to play games, and f***...i think i would need 7 eyes to cover the whole width and height of the monitor tongue.gif
everything's just getting bigger and faster for no real good reason nowadays cept to make lots of money.

Mouse-Maker Razer Hacked, Firmware Infected

Consumers who downloaded drivers from Razer USA got a bonus surprise.

Is there anything--heck anywhere--safe on the Internet anymore? Rik Ferguson of Trend Micro is claiming that PC accessory maker Razer USA was recently infected with a Trojan horse, thus infecting drivers stored on its support servers. After downloading and examining eight infected drivers, Trend Micro contacted the company and the files were thus removed from the site.

Unfortunately, many customers already downloaded the infected files. Ferguson told ITworld that consumers not only retrieved the requested drivers, but the WORM.ASPXOR.AB Trojan program as well. The malware is rather obscure, with only 7 out of 41 vendors offering generic detection. Because Razer USA's peripherals are mostly geared toward gamers, they are more at risk because they tend to disable antivirus protection to gain more system resources.

Currently Razer USA has no clue as to how the downloads were infected. As of Monday afternoon, the company's main website was still up and running, however the customer support website was yanked offline while Razer USA and Trend Micro investigated the source of the infection. "Woops," read the support page. "We had to bring down Razer Support for the time being for a quick fix."

Ferguson said that the malicious Trojans were crawling on Razer USA's website for a few days prior to his involvement based on comments from concerned customers. As of today the support page has returned online, however Razer USA provides links to online virus scanners for anyone who downloaded the infected drivers here

I have to agree. I'm using dual monitor's
My mamba is running at 5600 dpi all the time
may it be photoshop, homework or surfing the net laugh.gif
I play FPS I reduce slightly to 2000dpi and pawn noob with 1337 style brows.gif
At time I bring down to 800 for snipers tongue.gif
So buying the mamba really help me in the game
DPI switcher and high DPI is really useful
At times in cod 4, I hear an enemy walking behind me
I would switch to 5600 by pressing the switch and jump, do a 360 rotation and kill him laugh.gif

i seldom use my copperhead at it's max @ 2000 dpi. At best only 800, as far as i can recall, i didn't went over that limit. only when i use 3D apps, like CATIA and Solidworks then the 2000 dpi and 400 dpi comes in handy.
