I got xtreme gamer fatality fps sound card with my ath-a500 now.
thats why I ask so...
If i bring the ath-a500 to cyber gg kao kao, because on board sound port fail one. 
I hold the purchase first. Probably december Ill go to tourney ( 1st round then lose those ) haha...

If you're using it ONLY for gaming then yeah, the Megalodon is well, mega. But for movies and music especially, you'll need a proper dedicated soundcard. You can then pair it with a decent pair of headphones and get acceptable directional clarity too. On board soundcards are useless. When I'm doing work on my laptop (with on board sound obviously), I'll need to turn on my desktop (decent X-Fi soundcard and Razer Mako) to play music. My electricity bill shoots up to the moon, but well, it's a fair trade off.

But for gaming at CCs.. I guess you'll need the Megalodon.

Actually, depending on the movie's sound system. if the movie supports 7.1 then its great for the Megalodon..but if it DOES NOT support 7.1 then you have to use the 5.1 system then...same goes to gaming..

Games that support 7.1 works great with the Megalodon 7.1.

if games that DONT suppoert 7.1 then 7.1 of the Megalodon wont be good.

and sound card aint a problem when you got a megalodon (i guess LOL)
