hi there nokia2003,

thanks for helping me out the other day, after the JB it works like a charm..but now i have another quire.. i am not sure either it has been questioned or asked..the question again is : how to delete apps frm the i phone.

i know the normal way it should be like this:

1) hold your finger on either the icon for the application you wish to uninstall or any other icon until the icons on your home screen begin to shake or wiggle (the same action you take to move or re-arrange home screen icons)
2) click the "x" in the upper left hand corner of the icon for the application you wish to remove

but mine dose not have any "x" sign on the apps? can u help me on this.

many thanks

I used to think this way before.
But I found out that I could straight away update in iTunes without using QuickPwn?
I merely used once which is on 2.1 if Im not mistaken.

But what I did in 2.2 and 2.2.1 is just a direct update in iTunes.
And of course I didnt lose any data, no need to restore from backup yade yade.

That's why.
I posted this earlier and a few told me that I just need to unlock the baseband once.
And I can just proceed to the next updates,
As long as Apple doesnt change the baseband.

Do correct me as I'm not sure.

As i recall back, upgrading from 2.2 to 2.2.1, you can upgrade with iTunes withut losing your data but not from 2.0 to 2.2.1.

The whole reason of using DevTeam tools is to be on the safe side rather than getting lock back and face with a emergency screen as Hanxz has experience it numerous of time after upgrading from iTunes. We have cases where 2G iPhones users get locked after a firmware upgrade from iTunes countless of time.

Anyway, am looking forward to 3.0 with all it's goodness.

Cheers

as far as alll of us know. thr r basically 2 ways of deleting apps from cydia...
one. cydia--->manage--->packages...tap on da app...then modify on top right, select remove...

2nd...install cydelete and delete a cydia app just like an app store app...
simple...which part of it r u getting wrong?

All applications installed from Cydia can be uninstalled mate. We have no idea what applications you're talking about and list the applications and will see why you can't.

for installer/cydia, rebooting (or respringing) is almost analogous to uninstalling la.

In iTunes, under Devices, it shows the name of the device (e.g. Ah Beng's iPhone). How do i change that to another name? (e.g. Ah Lian's iPhone)

This also applies to iPod and other Apple devices also.

Just double-click your iPhone's name, and it should highlight the entire name, allowing you to change it. smile.gif

And people wonder why we are tired of answering these questions or requests. Change your mindset, or change your cellphone. We don't need folks like this permeating the iPhone community.
