Hi there. Recently I bought a 2nd hand iphone 3g from a friend (forumer here). It's in excel cond but i have a few probs with it:
1) I cant copy my music files from PC to iphone even thru itunes.
As u can see from the screenshot below, i cant even play the music that the previous owner had put inside..

It seems that if i want to sync the music/video files from my pc, i have to erase the previous owner's music files which i have no intention to do it since i like the songs.. do help me..

The only way to keep those media files is if the previous owner authorise your computer with his account; which I doubt he'll do.

With the new iPhone firmware on the way and a release date somewhere near September 17th, it’s time to take a look at the new features:-

1) Video editing on iPhone 3GS wont overwrite the clip over the original when you are editing a clip.
2) iPhone will now vibrate whenever you switch to the mode where you can move and arrange icons on the iPhone home screen.
3) “Fraud Protection” toggle has been added to settings under Safari.
4) iPhone boot time is now faster.
5) Voice Control over Bluetooth.
6) Updated modem firmware to 5.08.01
7) Improvements to OpenGL and Quartz.

I'm using iPhone 3G now and according to iPhone's manual, switching off 3G (Settings > General > Network > Enable 3G > Off) will save significant battery power. iPhone will then use the slower GPRS (or EGDE?) for data access (online).

I read somewhere we won't be able to receive voice calls or SMS (and MMS too?) if we use GPRS to go online. Is this true? What about EDGE?

So, if I want to go online and at the same time be able to make or receive calls/SMS/MMS, I must use 3G?

Guys, I've few questions to ask, is there any app that I can install into my iphone to enable me to send my captured pics via bluetooth to other iphone/phone users? Also, is there app where i can install so that I can use my mp3 as my ringtone? Thxs and kindly show me the link should anyone has asked this question before before I don't seem to be able to find it via the search button ...

Yes there are several apps in the Apple Store that will allow U to transfer files/photos via Bluetooth to other users. Amongst them are:-

1) Bluetooth Photo Share - FREE
2) BlueShare - $0.99
3) PhotoBeamer - $0.99 / BeamCatcher - FREE [I think for this App to work U need to have both the apps]
4) ImageShare - FREE

bro, when u r in spore, ur hotlink is on roaming...so by default, n cant...but if u r willing to pay da roaming data charges, then u can surely tether...just go to setting>general>network>Data roaming on

Well.. i have 500mb free data... i turned on data roaming and 3G but the internet tethering option still is missing.

I'm not sure Y the option disappeared; I've never tried using roaming before. Also, I would advise against it because the 500MB free data is NOT applicable for roaming. Roaming charges are separate.

I'm not sure cause I don't have those Apps. I've been browsing the Apple Store quite frequently and came across some of the apps U were looking for; I'm not a user hence can't quite recommend which is good and which isn't.

"Pull"?! Er.. do U mean Fetch? Well, Fetch is as Fetch does; mine is set on manual so it doesn't fetch mail until I ask it to.

Yahoo mail on the other hand as Push but its push doesn't seem to be 100% reliable at all times. And Yes U can always set the phone to just give you the mail headers and not the entire mail message
