a tiny ray of indication for the fourth generation of iPhone?

unfortunate incident for the man though...

Current Firmware : 3.0
iTunes Version :8.216
PC/MAC :window
Jailbreaking software :redsnow 0.8
Problem Encountered :after update it and jail break it.it show me this. please insert a valid sim card with no pin lock to active it.
Steps Taken So Far :redsnow step has been done on it.

Need to seek help on backiing up. My issue is like this.
Selling off my wife Iphone 3G 8gb black to fund for new Maxis 16gb 3G -S white. To clear her phone I will do a restore as it is also not upgraded to 3.0 yet. B4 that I will back up her phone via itunes because she's taking over my 16gb white 3G iphone. WHen I sync mine on itunes I will back mine up and then sync to copy her contacts to my phone for her use. Is there anyway I can sync notes and copy her SMS as well and without deleting my SMS and contacts when I do restore.

Congrats, you've jailbroken it.

Now, please proceed to unlock it with ultrasn0w. Do refer to the pinned threads on how to do it.

Either you use the backup software or do it manually using iPhone File Manager. I would recommend using the Windows iPhone Back Utility which confirmed working with 3.0 by setoyo)

of course u still can download apps from appstore.... ans at the same time u can enjoy 3rd party apps from cydia

ya tats wat i wan... just wonder they(apple) might able to detect tat JB-ed

if u send in to apple... then there is a possibility they can detect d jailbreak.
but if u r talking about apple detecting d jb thru itune ------>answer is NO

Shouldn't EDGE be your cellular data network?

Yeah I know. The thing is I can't find 'cellular data network' anywhere in my settings. Is there a way I can make it appear? It's strange to me how different people have different options missing in their settings menu...


(Updated) Question 2:-

Problem Encountered : It seems that my MMS might not work after all. I tried the 1st time immediately after upgrading to 3.0 and jailbreak, unlock...it worked so I thought I was lucky but now the 2nd attempt failed...I don't have an ATT sim card with me so I can't do the steps suggested...any other way to get it? Or am I MMS doomed? (Please, no...I thought I won't need Swirly anymore...)
Steps Taken So Far : Been trying again and again...I think Maxis might charge me for it even though they failed...shoot...

Plug in your iPhone v the USB cabla and launch iTunes. You should be getting a unlock message both on iTunes and your iPhone if you have not done so.

If nothing happens, just restore back to default and see if you get the unlock message via iTunes.


It's there if you use the ipcc file to enable it. Go to Settings/General/Network/Cellular Data Network
