hey im wondering will it void the warranty if I add ram myself ? lol
*
Nope. Dell warranty won't void if you add the ram yourself. But do remember to switch back to Dell's OEM ram when you send you laptop to repair. Dell warranty only covers the factory built hardware.

Can. You can request for Bahasa Melayu operator when you called. They will link you to Bahasa speaking customer service agent.

No, it is not free if you call from your handphone BUT, last time i purposely call the customer service and hang up at the middle of conversation. They called me back tongue.gif you can try this trick but not 100% guaranteed will work.

I did that twice actually. First time I don't really mean to hang up but the coverage problem. I wanna call them back but they called me first to I just pick it up.

The second time is intentionally, just wanna check out the customer service agent's services laugh.gif This is why I love Dell, their customer service is thumbup.gif

Emailing them is pain in the ass I should say. Take them quite awhile to reply my mail but you might get instant reply if you mail to correct department.

Just got my HDD changed due to error 2000-0146. HDD can't be detected. Tried to email them but seems like no reply. So tried call them. The following day, they response to my call and made appointment to replace my HDD.

But unfortunately, they change my ori WD HDD to toshiba HDD. Is Toshiba HDD more inferior?

I would agree with Rayz that calling is more efficient than email. and their customer service quite efficient too.

Toshiba HDD? hmmm, first time saw people running on Toshiba HDD. The common HDD that Dell normally use is Samsung, Seagate, Hyundai and WD. Personally I never have any user experience with Toshiba HDD but based on their brand reputation, it should be good.

p/s:I'm a consumer that consider, brand=quality.

Wow, that is a long delay to me. Some of the forumer here faced the delay in delivery when they ordered through online and phone, but most of them get worst delay that yours. Some even got 1 month delay due to lack of parts. Can't do anything in this situation, their assembly plant move to China already so it will effect the delivery time as well as the assembly time. Bare with it or you can rush the sales agent or ask for freebies as compensation tongue.gif

What is the current version of your bios? I don't see any necessity to update BIOS but heck, new things always better right?

i dunno but this step he told me

STEP 1: Update BIOS from the following link: http://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/1555_A06.EXE (Please ensure the AC Adapter and battery is connected before update)

STEP 2: If possible and available, swap other available AC adapter to check if the same error message persist

STEP 3: I would like to request your help in obtaining the serial number for: -
1. AC Adapter (the charger)
- The serial number is a 12-20 characters that usually start with 2 alphabets (e.g. CN-xxxxx), followed by alphanumeric characters that located at the back of the AC Adapter.

In the meantime, kindly confirms the details below in case we need to issue a replacement ac adapter for you.

• Delivery address:
• Contact Number:
• Alternate Number: (Please provide if any)

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have further enquiries.

The customer service people asked you to update your BIOS? How to update your BIOS when your machine can't even detect the AC adapter?

You can give it a try though. Go and download new BIOS at Dell website and update it. See what happens next.

Well, If I was in your situation, I will just demand for 1 to 1 change for my adapter. Save the hassle as the hardware won't break down just because of BIOS and c'mon Dell, BIOS for god sake? How frequent Dell update its BIOS until user will have problem with it?

Yup, demand for 1 to 1 exchange, less hassle and work also...just like rayz posted, Dell rarely update their BIOS unless users encounter problem with the recent BIOS...

Btw, i just don't understand the second step...use other AC adapter? where to find lor...if you got spare then why bother calling in the first place..doh.gif..
