Get SSD disk. For sure it will improved performance. You also can enabled IDA on both cores. Intel P8600 CPU frequency will increased from 2.4GHz to 2.53GHz

I upgrade my Dell Studio 1555 BIOS from A06 to A12/A13.
Now whenever I play game, my GPU will overheat and shut down.
It didn't happen when I'm at A06, maybe the threshold is set higher.

I can't go back to A06 now as the BIOS is removed from Dell driver downloads site, anyone can help?

Hi guys
I've put my dell studio 1555 to sleep mode. Then when I tried to turn it back on, the screen just went pitch black. Have already tried turning it on and off with and without battery as well as the ac adapter. I still can hear the laptop turning it on. Can anyone help?

Anyone here install their Studio 1555 (preloaded with Vista) with Win7?

I plan to format my Studio. But when I check the Dell website for driver, I saw a few BIOS updates with Win7 compatibility mentioned.

Does the original old BIOS has any problem with Win7? If possible, I don't wanna flash the BIOS to install Win7.

In this forum, there are people mentioning that the new BIOS also got problem like overheat. So I'm scared to update to Win7.

Please advice.
