I did that twice actually. First time I don't really mean to hang up but the coverage problem. I wanna call them back but they called me first to I just pick it up.

The second time is intentionally, just wanna check out the customer service agent's services laugh.gif This is why I love Dell, their customer service is thumbup.gif

Emailing them is pain in the ass I should say. Take them quite awhile to reply my mail but you might get instant reply if you mail to correct department.
*
Dell CS is thumbup.gif....i use Dell Latitude before...call them if have problem, but sometimes got cut-off because of the coverage, but like rayz said, they called me back instantly...thumbup.gif

Anyway, can request to talk to a BM Tech Support lor, i done that before..since i cannot undestand English much tongue.gif...

Yup, demand for 1 to 1 exchange, less hassle and work also...just like rayz posted, Dell rarely update their BIOS unless users encounter problem with the recent BIOS...

Btw, i just don't understand the second step...use other AC adapter? where to find lor...if you got spare then why bother calling in the first place..doh.gif..

Win Vista power saving options kicked in, perhaps?
*
i tot so too..hmm.gif...well, usually for some laptop, while on Battery mode it will drop the performance to enhanced the battery life...you can get a longer battery life (about 15min +-) but the performance is dropped...nod.gif

once u remove the AC adapter, ATi PowerPlay will drop the clock to conserve battery, and Intel EIST would limit the multiplier of the CPU as well...

so it's definitely normal that the frame rate dropped...

stick to High Performance mode under power options of Vista if u want to maintain the performance... but u sacrifice battery time if u do that...

this is words from Heaven..nod.gif..only speak the truth, nothing but the truth...nod.gif

Agreed. I think the perception of made in China goods are lousy or not quality should be thrown away. China do produce good product and their QC is improving each and every year. Mind you that mot of the branded stuff that we using or wearing are made in China. The cost of production there is so cheap and with the gov venturing newly developed industrial area, most of the laptop makers are shifting their assembly and production plant to China.

The delivery time is expected to be delayed. Dell can't afford to just send one laptop to Malaysia, they will send it in bulk to cut the cost.
*
Sending a single laptop for sure will make Dell CEO rclxub.gif one...bulk is the way to go..though your laptop is already finished assembled by them also need to wait for others before they can ship it to MY...

Well, just like you said...China produce almost all the hardware parts for almost all laptops companies..so now it depends with the QC nod.gif

Well, if there is no 'yellow warning', that means your driver should all be working fine...because Win 7 have all the generic drivers for it..but usually not for Graphic Card, Sound Card & also LAN/WiFi....maybe you can try download from the sites (Dell or the LAN sites)...that will work i think...

... need to clarify something. I don't meant to delete the partition but shrinking its volume. The recovery partition is 15GB while there's about 7GB of free space in it. I just want to know whether i can shrink it and make the partition 0% empty space (100% occupied by the recovery image). The image file will never increase in size right? Correct me if i'm wrong.
*
This one i'm not sure but it is recommended that you don't touch the recovery partition as any changes made can effect the recovery...

Added on November 3, 2009, 8:19 amOne thing you can try is that you can shrink the partition little by little and see if that will effect the recovery partition nod.gif

how long does you all take to get your studio 15 since the payment was made? dell state that normally it take 7 to 10 working days. but can it be faster than that?
*
Well, it can be faster if they build yours in a slight faster time, some people here even received theirs way sooner that the ETA nod.gif...just update your status and see if they can deliver yours before the ETA nod.gif...

QUOTE(seriousshit @ Mar 8 2010, 01:34 PM)
does it suit for IT students..??
*
Yes, for sure it does suit IT students, just that before buying any laptop, please be sure of the things that you really need in a laptop...what screen size do you prefer, want to use what processor etc etc...overall, Studio 15 is a really nice choice if you don't really bother by its 15" size nod.gif
