QUOTE(temppei @ Jan 15 2010, 09:56 AM) Wanna ask u pros, seems like when i set the refresh rate to 50hz, movie becomes clear and sharp when object is in motion. really smooth and clear. most prolly it's set at 100hz. i can see the difference even when i compare to 60hz. but it jerks and judders at times. not minute judders but real slow judders. when i set it to 24hz, it's smooth (cinema motion on), but not as clear and sharp as the 50hz. watching high def cartoons set at 50hz are a blessings, clear and sharp but it judders at times. what do yo guys set for your refresh rate from ur equipment? thx. What r u watching? Blu Ray, DVDs, Astro? High Def Cartoons at 50Hz, whats the original framerate? BD - 24hz NSTC DVDs - 60Hz Astro - 100Hz If u r using the wrong setting for the wrong source, u will get weird motion and artefacts...

Getting Started

|
hi anfield bro, it should be a 24p downloaded cartoon. just wanna test it out coz it is much clearer and sharper (precise). No artifacts but judders badly. anyway to maintain that kind of motion clarity while retaining smooth motion? on cartoons it is really sharper and clearer

If it is indeed 24p, I believe u shd off all processing and the Sammy will be able to handle it.

There have been some disturbing news of rising black levels (similar to the G series Panny) that have been cropping up. Also the main reason why the 8500 local dimming LCDs were pulled out and not marketed all around well is rumored to be due to patent infringement.

QUOTE(jimmyteng18 @ Jan 15 2010, 05:41 PM) There have been some disturbing news of rising black levels (similar to the G series Panny) that have been cropping up. What does this means? Ok, the mechanism of the Sammy is yet unknown. However, on the Panny the hours on ur panel are there for a reason. One of the prime reasons is there are voltage adjustments done to the drivers to change the voltage to the panel as time changes. In the case of the Panny, there are cases where the voltage changes are incorrect as such, there is an increase in black levels as the panel ages. What this means, is that the blacks are becoming greyer. It is something that is firmware correctable but I'm not sure if Panny is open about it. It looks like Sammy has similar issues but it has not been confirmed.

My advise is if u want to go the break in route, maybe do it 6-8hrs a day and let it rest so as to not overheat. Just to be careful.

Whoops correction, it is 63PSB680, not B650.
Dunno why but I dun see the purplish AR filter on this B680 but on the 50B650 it is very noticeable.

The firmware upgrade. Colour seems better. IR is inherent characteristic from panel. QUOTE(chewkl @ Jan 16 2010, 08:33 PM) Whoops correction, it is 63PSB680, not B650. I was looking at PS63B680 and TH-P65V10LK side by side. 65V10 picture seems more natural and pleasant to eyes.
