tuan tuan sekalian,

just wanna check if you guys hav tried out the network function to pull movies out frm your pc. lan cable connection btw.

seems that movies works fine other than my larger mkv files. could it be bandwith issue? direct hdd to the tv works fine.

just to confirm again bros, 50b650 can detect and play files over ntfs. weird that the manual states only support fat32.

the wall mount i hav is for 50" till 60" if not mistaken as stated on the box .. the clearance is quite alright, had a stiff monster cable hdmi running frm the bck. it is bent though..

bro, IR is alright but not burn in .. right? .. so far been playing files and hav been fiddlin with the built in youtube widget. after a while, you can see that the outline of the menu will be there. just wash it off with the burn in washer and it dissapears. been successful so far.

oh ya, tried a .ts file yesterday via the media player and it works!.

Added on November 10, 2009, 10:15 ami hav watched my downloaded sitcoms which is 4:3 ratio. playin for about an hour plus yesterday. the bars are there. but after the washer .. it dissapears.

Hi guys,

i found two washed out, slightly pinkish pixels on my screen yesterday nite. it's not noticeable but was wondering if it would lead to something more serious?

and there is also one bright red blinking flashing pixel which was there yesterday night after a few hours of movies and it's gone this morning ..

hmmmm .. is that normal?

Is it under iniitial panel hour? Better be careful.
I had once returned my s10 plasma for warranty due to one pink pixel 2 days after purchase.

i got it replaced with a new set. i've also updated the set with the newer firmware frm the samsung website. the problem i had with mkv files linked frm my pc is solved. smile.gif

hey ronn,

u can just download the file off samsung website and save it in a thumbdrive or your hdd. once plugged in choose the option to update firmware or just go to the firmware update option in the menu.

very simple . smile.gif

Wanna ask u pros,

seems like when i set the refresh rate to 50hz, movie becomes clear and sharp when object is in motion. really smooth and clear. most prolly it's set at 100hz. i can see the difference even when i compare to 60hz. but it jerks and judders at times. not minute judders but real slow judders.

when i set it to 24hz, it's smooth (cinema motion on), but not as clear and sharp as the 50hz. watching high def cartoons set at 50hz are a blessings, clear and sharp but it judders at times.

what do yo guys set for your refresh rate from ur equipment?

thx.

hi anfield bro,

it should be a 24p downloaded cartoon.
just wanna test it out coz it is much clearer and sharper (precise). No artifacts but judders badly.

anyway to maintain that kind of motion clarity while retaining smooth motion? on cartoons it is really sharper and clearer smile.gif

IR for my panel has improved termendously!
been using my tv for bout 2 months now (i think)

it is hooked to my htpc and my contrast is rather high too. Setting is more or less the same as RonaldJoe gave me. Good setting! smile.gif Just some little adjustments to suit my quirky taste.

not much IR. smile.gif even if there is, it's easily removed.

just thought of sharing smile.gif

Ronald bro,

i'm using the hudaman setting as well, just with some minor adjustment on the contrast, color, hdmi output, and some other minor settings which i dont remember. smile.gif

i've updated my tv long ago, coz i cant seem to play big mkv files over LAN and after the update it worked. and the tv works with NTFS as well!

i've watched dramas with the static log for hours, and even that the logo is not noticeable. even if it's visible it can be easily cleared off with the built in tool.

ar188,
yar man, mcD @ center point all using pioneer panels! dem envy. heh..

This is cool man! I didn't try playing anymedia on the tv as yet.

my hands quite itchy .. haha .. had the panel less than a week, explored all possibility with the tv already. Tested the internet widgets, slow but it worked. maybe thats' why my first set got prob and had to be replaced. haha..

i've read the media can be updated as well, but surprisingly no updates for asian side.. wonder what's the difference, found games, new recipes and other stuff as well. but didn't work eh on my tv. if you or anyone here hav any clues on these please share with me.. thumbup.gif

new models coming out with 3D tech is it? if that's the case, then conventional plasma price wouldn't be affected too much i think...

anyways la...cant wait liao..will definitely get it for CNY...best price i got so far, RM5k with standard samsung warranty F.O.C. Iron  rclxub.gif

hey bro,

i think it's alright with the heat... it's meant to be like that i supposed. doubt it will damange the screen in anyway.

the burn in is normal, initial stage, it's very obvious but now it just leave traces unlike when it was new, and with the screen washing it goes off.

i do the washing every few days.

dont be overly worried man! mine is working like a charm.

i dont have astro, but i have the typical channels namely rtm1, rtm2 and the rest.

my settings - 85 for contrast with dynamic contrast boost at low.

even with the ntv7 logo for an hour. the IR is not overly obvious.
do a wash and it dissapears.

not too sure if it's related to panels. but i notice my 2nd panel after swapping for a new one is less prone to IR tho.

bro,
u better call desa and ask them to swap ur tv man.
i got mine swapped for a new one without much hassle.

mine were stuck pixels and occasional flashing pixels. cant really proof it to them, but they took my word and swap one for me.

call me kiasu or wuteverlah. i'm mighty happy after the change biggrin.gif

de_lasoul,

i doubt samsung will swap, most prolly will just repair it. the shop swapped for me. smile.gif

bro,
u mounted it urself!? u my hero la. haha.. the installers installed for me. two of them. saw them struggling coz of the weight man..

but accidents do happen smile.gif. anyway i think u shld call the shop and tell them the prob. i didn't prove much to them, after telling my sales agent the prob, he said he will reserve a new set for me.

showed the guy who came a few of those stuck pixels (darn difficult to see and find), he looked puzzled and just swapped.

i did ask him if anyone has swapped for this matter, he said sheepishly - ur the first one. smile.gif i'm rather particular i guess.

anyway they swapped with a new set. checked in service screen.
