Recently had been diagnosed with low-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma of salivary gland.
Went through 5 different ENT specialists. Following are my personal opinions which should not be served as any guidelines: 1st doctor: "Let me google for you which part should you perform the ct scan" (geez...) 2nd doctor: "Explained extensively and ended the conversation with a question - do you have medical card" (yeah right...) 3rd doctor: "From my expertise this doesn't look like cancer' (okay...) 4th doctor: "While checking the lumps, he was talking on the phone and mentioned to one of his friends that "geez, cancer is very hard to cure I prefer not to get on those cases" (smart doctor..eh?) 5th doctor: Soft spoken, very professional with 3 nurses at the front desk and another nurse inside the room. He showed me all the cases he had handled before and explained to me case by case what happened thereafter. He is always sitting up straight unlike 4th/2nd/1st doctors. 5th doctor: Dr Koay Cheng Eng from Sunway Medical Centre. All doctors are from Central Malaysia. This is the 3rd week post-surgery and the wound recovered very well. |

QUOTE(megara @ Nov 29 2012, 04:33 PM) Dr Koay Cheng Eng (the brother of the much-mentioned Dr Koay Cheng Boon) is very good. He is soft-spoken and has a lot of empathy. By the sounds of it after reading of others' experience with Dr Koay Cheng Boon, he's very different from his brother. just did a quick google of the "legal" problems of dr koay cheng boonDr Koay Cheng Eng now operates out of Sunway Medical Centre, no longer out of Gleneagles. (Dr Koay Cheng Boon seems to have run into some... "legal problems" so Dr Koay Cheng Eng has taken over his brother's clinic there.) Dr Koay Cheng Eng has solved sinus problems for so many of my family members. Be prepared to wait a while to get to your turn to see him though, he's very popular. really laughable. macam gray's anatomy drama |

QUOTE(reef_d @ Apr 7 2016, 07:36 AM) I dont think clinic would be sufficient, best to see and ent specialist so they could scope with a cam and really see the issue and diagnose it correctly the first time. talking about cam scopeis it normal for doc to scope a patient in the nose & throat then proceed to scope another patient without changing or sanitizing anything? |

As for the insurance claim.I think most insurance would required you to be hospitalised for at least one night before you can make a claim. You need to check specifically with your insurance about their claim procedure. You have to follow it strictly otherwise it will be rejected. When you buy insurance, all you need to do is sign the dotted line and pay the premium(it's that simple they say),but when you make a claim.......they'll go thru' everything with a fine tooth comb. |

No idea. Will update once I got more info. But as I checked on the net it doesn't cost more than rm 2k. I think its cut throat. Luckily for me, my insurance paid everything and add ang pow Rm300 per night from the 3rd night.

This one I found on another website.
Dengue Fever: Had I been overcharged from unethical hospital? I have a worker who was recently infected by dengue fever and I had him sent to hospital on 30/5/2015 at 7.35 pm. When I returned the next day at 10am. they told me I had been charged RM$800. I was shocked because before that the worker told me he felt better and was able to walk more than 1km before he going in. Attached thumbnail(s) |
