talking about cam scope
is it normal for doc to scope a patient in the nose & throat then proceed to scope another patient without changing or sanitizing anything?

Guys a quick one, today i went to Subang Medical Center to let Dr John Tan consulting me. after diagnosis and checking up with everything he given me some med to try it out for 2 weeks and he said to get back to him two weeks later for checking and i was charged RM570++.

i am wondering now if i visit him 2 weeks later to check on my status again am i going to back another consultation fee again? can anyone enlighten me here?

and for people that have medical card, do you guys claim insurance for this? or just pay out of your own pocket, sorry for noob question because this is first time in my life meeting up with specialist doctor.

Every time you see the specialist, you'll have to pay the consultation fees ( this is excluding the medicine, should he prescribe you some)

As for the insurance claim.I think most insurance would required you to be hospitalised for at least one night before you can make a claim.
You need to check specifically with your insurance about their claim procedure. You have to follow it strictly otherwise it will be rejected.

When you buy insurance, all you need to do is sign the dotted line and pay the premium(it's that simple they say),but when you make a claim.......they'll go thru' everything with a fine tooth comb. icon_question.gif

I know a guy who is stuck in Sunway medical now. Had dengue, but no money. Hospital ask to pay 12k for hospitalization. Ask insurance already. They ask him to wait 3 months.

I don't understand, wait 3months for what? you mean the insurance ask him to wait 3months.

not only ENT,but generally almost all doctors are like that.
The patient is already not feeling well, the least they do is to show some compassion. wink.gif

I went to KPJ Kajang for ENT specialist.

I was charged rm680 for his consultation charges for 2 sessions. 1st session is open file and arrange admit hospital for diagnose (25 mins) and 2nd session is next day explaining the diagnose result and solution (25 mins)

Is this reasonable fee? Other tools and equipment charged seperately. the whole diagnose with ct scan, blood test and 1 day admission is rm2k over!

wow, that's exorbitant.I did my sinus operation about 10 years ago at a private hospital cost me rm3500 total

i was thinking the same. now i have to make possible claim to my insurance provider as the suddenly reject my GL during payout time. reason being, doctor bad hand writing
*
The responsibility is on the insurance to verify the doctor's report with the doctors, not reject you cos they can't read the doctor's handwriting.
I'm sure the letter has the doctor's stamp on it.

I had the same issue with my insurance,I went straight to their office and confronted them.
Finally they admitted it's their responsibility.
Sometimes those guys in the insurance are just plain lazy to do their job and hence push it back to us. ranting.gif
