ar188,
POHD will automatically ask to format the internal HDD, otherwise it is unusable. So, it is no good if you are thinking of sticking a 'loaded' HDD into the player.

azbro,
For these 'naked' HDDs, is it safe to store them in the plastic bags provided with the HDDs, shelved them somewhere?

Of course, those are anti-static bags. Just be careful you dont drop, expose to strong magnet etc. You will cry if you lose a 1.5T full of movies collection if you are not careful biggrin.gif

Those bags that come wrapping the HDDs are anti-static and are good for wrapping your nekid HDDs. If simply use other non-static bags, may cause your HDD some problems

Added on October 21, 2009, 12:16 pmBtw, if use external USD HDD, need to reformat also?

I just found out from the supplier, yes the docker is able to format the blank naked hdd. For me, it's the way to go.

Does anyone here know about the next firmware release for the POHD? specifically for the capability to play BD-ISO?

Yeah...my meaning is same like Ngto.
If you got kids around, make sure you teach them not to touch it.
Hehe...I teach my 1 year old kid not to touch any HDD (but after she dropped one) sad.gif

Is it formatted as EXT3 & they create a folder REC?

Seems that the POHD will format it with some additional diskspace used up for internal caching purpose, around 300mb if I am not wrong.

I've read somewhere that Xtreamer has heat issues. Any truth in that?
