like in what instances?? im kinda disappointed that 620 and 630 beat my 720BE in many benchmark ~~ should have waited
*
as in 3dmark based benchies? if so u can just ignore them as more cores = more scores... only concern for 720 is some of 'em (especially earlier batch) need rather high volt for high clock... sad.gif

720 is a cool (in temp) chip... thumbup.gif

Miahahaha, lower latency is still a bit better, ur 7-7-7 is still much better than 9-9-9.. But u won't really notice it tho.. hmm.gif

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Sep 17 2009, 11:55 AM)
d ram is nothing if compared to kingmax value ram bro... 9-9-9-x is like a rubber band which lost its elasticity, 7-7-7-x ftw... but too bad i can't afford any d9 ram now...  sad.gif

not much improvement but d speed of windows (whatever u open in explorer) popin out is noticeably faster.  nod.gif
*
Actually, I can't see the improvements. I always assumed RAM speed and timings like power-to-weight ratio in cars; even with a high CC (RAM speed), your car isn't necessarily fast if it's heavy (timings) tongue.gif

Nothing can replace the amount of cores, but nothing can replace the amount of cache either smile.gif

what kind of users shall go for Phenom II??
*
The kind who:

-wants cooler operational temp compared to Phenom I and i7...
-the one who wants performance but not the highest...no.2 on the graph should be enough....
-the one who doesn't do encoding, rendering and high memory bandwidth related stuff...
-the one who doesn't want to pay almost 3 times more for an i7 or the one who is short on budget...(except -pws-, he is rich laugh.gif)

I can give you two computer to test side by side, one equipped with X3 and the other X2.....and another 2 systems includes a X3 and X4 system...if you can spot correctly which is which, then you really need a quadcore at the highest level....but normally, no one cant feel anything... whistling.gif

yeah it's of course better with bigger cache.. I use photoshop editing, raw conversion most.. it seems more cores are better in this application ~~~

RM365???...No point user buy X2 550 now..unless can unlocked..X4 620 perform on par X4 810..so bad... shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif
*
Mmg there is no point for the X2 550 to be getting if it werent because of the capability to unlock 2 extra cores...and due to the fact that it is based on deneb... brows.gif

imagine deneb, the highest for the consumer market for AMD...then think the blue camp...what is their highest chip for consumer...Bloomfield... thumbup.gif

Those graphs are on stock clock setting.. You can see the slight difference between a 2.6ghz X4 620 with 2.8ghz X4 630, it scales with the increase frequency..
But still i would say if u wanna grab one why not wait for the C3 stepping, the C2 stepping stock volt is kinda weird to me, kinda too much for a X4 without L3 hmm.gif

Hmmm according to Tomshardware the C3 steppings isn't that far off..
It was confirmed by an AMD rep hmm.gif

QUOTE(http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/athlon-ii-propus @ 2414-3.html)
Unfortunately, our sample is still a C2 part, although AMD has started switching to the newer C3 stepping. We’ll look at the stepping differences as soon as we can get two otherwise-identical Cs and C3 models. Some time ago, we looked at four virtually identical Athlon 64 X2 5000+ processors that all only differed in their F2, F3, G1, and G2 steppings. Since there were interesting differences then, we’re curious to see whether or not AMD and GlobalFoundries could actually improve some characteristics of the Phenom II core now.
