How to overclock? I just got a gigabyte MA78GM US2H and Phenom II 710. I just wanna increase the speed cuz unlocking 4th core is out of the question since my mobo has SB700 only...
The last time I OC my AMD proc was AMD Athlon 64 3000+, I increase the bus speed. But for my new mobo... I'm lost.. what do I actually increase??
btw, idle temp is around 29c and load is around 37c. is it good?

Can OC proc lagi??
didnt do any stress test after OC little bit to 2.8ghz.. run Resident Evil benchmark without any problems though.

i wanna ask about PSU. I have a 20 pin 450w PSU, can i use 20pin to 24pin converter for it to work on my 24pin motherboard?

actually my old PSU is quite good.. forgot what brand.. but its good~ those wire doesn't come out in a bunch.. its plugged in to the psu individually.. are there any risk with using 20pin to 24pin converter??

QUOTE(XiuKeong @ Jul 24 2009, 02:03 AM) I guess you mean modular psu. I think can but just make sure your psu watt is enough to support your pc I found out what PSU is that.. Ultra X-Connect 500W .. Sure better than this... Huntkey 350watt.. anyone heard b4 this one?????? any good??

QUOTE(under18 @ Jul 24 2009, 10:05 AM) ur psu like this review ? then its good i think x-connect 500Wyes is the same but mine is black finish.... someone replied me this but i dun really understand... what does he mean? "This is a pre-ATX2.x unit, which is when the specification moved the majority of the capacity to the 12V rail. The psu is probably still ok to use, but determine the actual wattage from the 12V rail rating, not the overall power rating. You don't necessarily need a bulky 20 to 24 pin adapter, the mobo will work fine without it." http://www.ultraproducts.com/this is their website..

QUOTE(cloudwan @ Jul 24 2009, 12:05 PM) What he meant was the PSU does not follow the latest ATX 2.x specification, but it may still be used on ur system and u don't really need to use the 20 to 24 pin adapter coz ur mobo can still use 20 pin too.. Any risk or not?? so the extra 4 pin no need to plug also can?? I'm using Gigabyte MA78GM US2H.. can check??

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Jul 28 2009, 11:08 PM) chip dependent, oc is about trial & error so no harm in doin that... 1.45~1.55v for bench, personally i wouldn't run vcore @ > 1.4v for 24/7. coolin plays some parts too... yup, just like my poor x4 810... i tried last time but can't iirc, d screws can't tighten d bolt thru kit properly, very "longgar"... time for acc mate... My motherboard has SB700... no ACC lar.........

QUOTE(kuntawakaw @ Jul 29 2009, 02:13 AM) cool and quiet shud reduce ur multi as well..so reduce the core speed as well. but from the CPUZ, only the vcore is reduced..so i wonder.. now just stress with small FTT..(or might consider bumping 1 notch of vcore, lower down HT perhaps) @-pWs- im waiting for ur SS..can post now? hehhe..10mins of priming also consider stable for me.. im too u mean use 1.4? lower the multi?? higher bus speed?? 3ghz stability test in overdrive shows no problem. but fails in Prime95 and OCCT(within minutes) This post has been edited by yvliew: Jul 29 2009, 02:18 AM
