And another note; playing a square; no man marking. Purely zonal plus maintain the square to limit flanking effect.

QUOTE(glozz @ Nov 25 2009, 04:18 PM) Deep discussion? Nolarr; quite simple stuff larr. Best to keep things simple. Do a simple box formation behind the middle line; mark space. Simple. Anything else; we take it from there. Ok, During the tournament, I don't think we can say who is better at runner or good at scoring.Like Glozz said, we keep it simple. Play 2 touch ball, touch & pass if possible. And if there is an opening for any players, try to to shoot or score. Simple 2-2 formation will have a slightly advantage on the defence, but no matter what, while we are in defence, every players would have to be part of it. One important thing I gotta voice out is wherever if the defender would have dash forward to counter attack, someone must be back to cover his position. Anyway, the formation would be easily run off when comes to real play as we don't train together and different players expect different style. So listen to Kang, ermmm This post has been edited by sthon: Nov 25 2009, 05:50 PM |

QUOTE(glozz @ Nov 25 2009, 02:07 PM) I would suggest a base 2-1-1 or a 2-2-0 'box' sitting square in the mid/def zones; to make it very simple and uncomplicated. I would also suggest the following: There. I've edited my position.1. giotto (MC/FC)* 2. Pono (MC/FC) 3. King (DC) 4. abu (MC) 5. faisael (MC) * 6. kang (DC) * 7. sthon (DC) 8. naz (Girl's Team Photographer) * 9. glozz (GK) 10. giotto 2 (MC/FC) I would prefer Kang in the middle though; but that means numerically-wise 'bit unbalaced. Just my 0.5 obviously. On a serious note, Pono is right that DC is not my best position. However, I am ok-ok lah in terms of dispossessing, blocking and er, fouling. So if we're leading by 5 goals and we need to shut up shop, then fill me in on the wings to support the defence lo... This post has been edited by Zan81: Nov 25 2009, 07:30 PM |

It's up to you guys man; all I can say is we're short of defensive cover. If we stick to a pure box 2-2; there's no need for wings. It's more compact that way. It's also hard to play wings if people don't track back. But up to you guys man.

I'm not worrying man. Honestly. However; if I'm going to play a game properly, I would like/expect that everyone plays properly. Otherwise; no point playing man.

I think we're not intending to play the 1-2-1 diamond/wing formation, as its a common problem for us in not wanting to track back and it leaves tonnes of space to be exploited by the opposition. I think what the rest of the guys meant is that someone must play left of the midfield, someone must play right of the midfield, simple as that. Similarly, someone must play left of the defence, someone must play right of the defence. Don't get too flustered over the formation, chill bro. We're playing by your way and im sure we're all serious about the game.During games, we have to be dynamic and cover each other when we get drawn out of position. |

hehe.humble opinion for me..
you guys can stick with 2-2... When defending: 1) someone wif good stamina would need to fall back quickly to make it like 3-1 formation. I suggest Kang here. When attacking: 2) 1 defender would need to go up wing to make it 1-3 formation. This would give u more attacking choices ...but take note..stamina needed here. |
