Guys, having spoken to Waile, we agreed to have some house rules for this Saturdays game. Do take note and let us all play a part to make the game a fun one.

1. LYN team come in BLUE only. Remember, BLUE!! Orange is not the new blue.

2. Punctuality. This is a paying field, if everyone comes late, we start late but still have to finish on time that we booked. Lets come abit early to warm up, socialise, check out MILFs discuss strategy and etc.

3. Since there's no ref, any unused substitute from either LYN or Waile team MUST nominate a ref for offside/foul, outball and etc decision. Freekick must be 10 steps from foul point.

4. Fairplay. Please be reminded that this is a friendly game in every sense. We're not playing for our future so take this like one of our casual futsal kickabout. Excessive physical play and oversealous tackles are not welcomed. We don't want anyone going back home injured.

I believe they're called linesmen doh.gif

But for fouls, we're all adults, I think we shoud be able to manage this on our own. Besides, the "ref" would be too far away if it happened in the middle of the field anyway.

when i discussed with giotto, we wanted just 1 ref and no linesmen. alternatively we can have 2 linesmen cum ref like futsal. how?

Waile/Naz,

Good suggestion. Instead of running up and down the pitch like EPL refs do, we would make do with 2 linesman on either side of the pitch. With that, the ref/linesman won't run like mad and than be too tired to play later on.

End of the day, its the spirit of fairplay la. If you know its a foul, i'm pretty sure you'd own up and apologise to the player you just fouled.

Oh I didn't know you guys discussed on a ref. I mentioned linesman, coz I figured it would be difficult for a ref to call for offside.

*NOTE: If I'm the linesman, I will call Oldman offside regardless he's on or off, just for the fun of it! tongue.gif

1. I'd suggest those with LYN FUTSAL (I know it's a contradiction!) kits wear these instead, just for a proper identity. Those without can opt for a blue kit, navy blue would be ideal. Also, a group photo after that with the same kit would be smashing!

2. Yup, agreed. Will def try to make it on time laugh.gif

3. Ok this is a quite hard to apply. What do you mean by unused sub? How would we know he is unused? To be an unused sub, you would have not to participate when the game is going on, thus he would be linesmen/ref then? And when he is required as sub, he's supposed to be subbed in the game immediately? Cos the one coming off would be pretty tired to be the successor of the linesmen/ref (the main reason his being subbed!)

I'd think one ref would be sufficient la, just to make sure everything is in order. Rolling ref i would think, reps from both teams alternating (with a bright yellow bib to differentiate). Linesmen would be pretty redundant if they are just there to call for outballs, etc.

4. Yes, friendly game (must tell myself that too!), so let's go out and have fun! And maybe score some crackers ala MikeCurl Tee and Arshavin Chen. whistling.gif

For me, the main reason for linesmen is to call for offside. Believe me, its not easy to call offside if you're a ref.

Unless we make do without the offside rule?

Yes I presumed that we won't be playing the offside rule, seeing that it's just a friendly match, and offside is so...subjective. Bound to be arguments especially when most of us are not experienced in calling the offside. In addition, if the linesmen were to call for offside, I'd really doubt he'd had the 'authority' for the players to listen to him.

i think its only fair for the players to listen to the linesmen when it comes to offside...thats what he is there for right? obvious offside all we know la...when it comes to situations where the forward might or might not be 1/2 inch infront of the defence line...50-50 chance la depending on the linesmen...

we'll be using subs who are not too tired/pengsan-ed to take up the roles of linesmen...agreed?

linesmen are to watch out for offisdes and more importantly...decide throw ins...as the big boned ref on that day cant run everywhere to determine throw ins

Well the sporting ones will listen/respect la, but since when can we control other ppl's thoughts and intentions (some of them are newbies), esp when it's a crunch time (like when you are being thumped left right centre). However, of course offside would be better, given uncle waile's explanation of his reasons for it! smile.gif

Hahahaha, ref slapping players because he doesnt wanna listen to the offside whistle. Thats gonna be so funny. Imagine James slapping Unker Waile coz offside. I think Unker gonna enjoy being slapped on his butt.

But seriously guys, its only a friendly game. If the ref blows(the whistle la), just stop the game and accept the decision la, we're not pro referees and no replay so its hard to determine whether its an offside or bad call. Its all in the name of fun, and thats the very same reason why this Saturday, we shouldn't be overzealous in crunching tackles and etc. Unker Waile, can you please make it clear to your team that we want fairplay too. Let them know about respecting the ref/linesman call.

And James, can you go to the bookstore, buy a pc of red plastic sheet and a pc of yellow plastic sheet and cut to a small pocket size sheet to be used as cards.
