in Korea they have white, pink and black for Samsung Jet with a slightly bigger screen. the speaker at the back are aligned with the camera, not centered. in Korea, Samsung mobiles are called Anycall. i was so excited to spot the phone when i saw the vids.. hehe. biggrin.gif

DXIG2 is Asian firmware. now Asian firmwares have upgraded to DXII2. If you want to experience your phone like it's really something new, try flashing to XEII2.. but XEII2 is for European market, it has no support for Chinese!

uprading your firmware may solve your problem bcos mine previously had the same problem (on DXIG2).

both are good. depends on what u need actually. if u want to install many applications on ur device, then go for omnia 2, else if u want cheaper with almost similiar functionality and way better screen, then Jet biggrin.gif. though omnia 2 has bigger screen, but it was pathetically held down by windows mobile OS support only 65k max colour doh.gif .else omnia 2 would be a kick ass phone of 2009.

Omnia 2 is too big and wide. Didn't like the size.

Jet's size is the best, in terms of size, functionality, features, and price.

i second the two comments above.. and Windows Mobile is vulnerable to viruses so u need to be careful or install an antivirus on your phone. AV programs can slow down anything.. tongue.gif Usually propriety OS are usually not easily infected by viruses..

if u want simple, go for Jet. if u want lots of stuff u don't even know whether u'll be using it or not, go for Omnia 2. Omnia 2 is also a good phone IMO.. i just can't afford it biggrin.gif

differences depends on the screen..means JET have better resolution x screen size ratio, 16 mil colour and better processor performances..playing 800mb video does not make the phone lag altho u forward rewind many2 times..

yup...thats why u need Samsung New PC Studio to make backup for all your data... phonebook, calendar, notes, etc.

Feature differences, read some review from forum like darkforestgorup.com .. to know your firmware type *#1234#

one thing i found out about Jet is that it has no more than 32mb of ram. possibly even less (16mb or 8mb).

why?

Jet cant open more than 3 heavy applications. LBS, java game, and music player was not possible.

Jet lag when browsing photos, media and videos.

heavy transition effect causes severe lag, thats why Samsung removes it. i mean, the different kind of transition effect which only found on ancient jet firmware.

same thing happens to LG arena which has 8mb of ram.

Helooo. Sat night saw a 2nd hand Jet in SS2 PJ. Still under warranty going for RM1,100. Not sure worth getting it smile.gif I got phobia abt 2nd hand phones - as maybe it has dropped before lar, firmware kacau inside, got knocked before, press t-schreen too hard lar...

Hmm, will wait lar.

New one is RM1480 smile.gif

See end of this year can drop to RM1200 since it has dropped from RM1,800:)

I love the loudspeaker - very loud.

Actually, Omnia 2 support 16million colors as well. The limitation is in Windows Mobile 6.1, not the hardware. I'm not sure if Windows Mobile 6.5 support 16 million colours though, but i heard u can use apps like CorePlayer to support 16m colours.

nope. win 6.5 doesnt support 16million as well. but maybe win 7 might support. that would be a long wait.

Just got my Jet.... doing the ultra risky fooling around without reading the manual bit... gotta ask, is the file transfer from PC to phone using the PC Studio always this slow? Took me 5-8 minutes to transfer a 175MB file!

Am I doing something wrong? Is there an easier way - ie, open it in Mass Storage mode so that it acts like a normal flash drive?

EDIT oooops, nm just found it. back to playing with it.... pretty, pretty screen....
