talkin about the iphone and samsung jet..
iphone have the advantage on the SOFTWARE, BUT CERTAINLY NOT HARDWARE..
u've heard about iphone 3gs overheat right..hehe

on samsung, its hardware wise brand hp..certainly iphone cannot compete with samsung when it comes to hardware..
samsung now is developing on the software aspect..iphone still one of the best right now when it comes to software..

and we cannot totally compare samsung jet(non-smartphone) & iphone(smartphone)..

pros :
- no lagging at all
- bright, perfect display..amoled screen display, it have the highest resolution for a phone
- although it use the resistive technology, but the screen is very2 sensitive to touch (thanks to the speedy processor)
- very customisable in all function : image, contacts, video etc
- multi-tasking, smartphone lack multitasking ex:iphone
- stylish, slim


cons :
- battery life : 1080 mAh
- widget : cannot download more than 2 (firmware will fix it)
- asia model of jet dont have gps, but the europe model have preinstall gps..

already bought this phone, and some opinions, review :

Features, Opinions, Review:

Pros:

1) Screen Display :
~ 3.1 inch AMOLED touchscreen, 16M colours, 480x800 resolution
~ the best resolution u can find in hp, no other better resolution than this in hp
~ AMOLED display is the finest display u can see, less energy used and produce very bright colour and far better than TFT display, also when i compare it to my LCD monitor, it produce better & brighter display, believe me..
~ the screen is big enough and really satisfied
~ Using R-Resistive touchscreen technology : R-Resistive screen combine the technology of capacitive and resistive touchscreen, very reponsive and also u're not limited on only using finger, u also can use this hp while wearing gloves, using stylus and also using your nails..very responsive..while 4 ur information, capacitive touchscreen only limited to use with your finger..

2) Processor 800MHz :
~ 1st time in my life using handphone, there is no lagging at all, it works smoothly, thanks to the super-fast processor..
~ 800Mhz Processor is one of the fastest cpu in hp, better than iphone 3GS(600Mhz) and any nokia hp, thats why it is really fast..

* for ur information, Samsung Jet S8003 that i use don't have the 3 optional transition effect as shown in this video, it contain only one option with variable effect, IMO still it really impress me..

~ this is my 1st time using Samsung hp, before this i only use Nokia hp, this phone is really friendly user and in the same level as nokia hp
~ all functions that can be found in menu : Call Log - Google - Music Player - Internet - Video Player - My Files - Calendar - Camera - Photo Browser - Photo Contacts - Alarms - Settings - Find Music - Communities - Dynamic Canvas - FM Radio - Exchange Active Sync - Video Editor - Games and Java - Video Recorder - Bluetooth - Synchronize - Timer - Stopwatch - WiFi - Downloads - Memo - Task - World Clock - Calculator - Converter (Bold : one that is more prominent function and i often use)
~ Menu screen doesn't have sub-menu screen, so all this function are organize in 3 screen that u can swap left and right..
~ Phone book is really customizable from A-Z, u can add many2 fields and really friendly user in oganizing, searching contacts
~ Phone calls very clear
~ MULTITASKING : great feature, u can open as much application that u want and the phone have no lagging at all, i already tested opening 10 application at the same time and the phone still work smoothly and once again i said, THERE's No LAGGING at all!! but ONLY one application that u cant run while multitasking is the CAMERA..also, 4 ur information, Smart-phone like iphone dont provide multi tasking..
~ Camera comes with 5MP with dual-led flash
~ Music Player impressive with many enhancement : DNSe, 5.1 Surround Dolby, customisable musics etc.
~ Video Player can play mp4,DivX files
~ Widgets, Samsung Jet come with TouchWiz 2.0 latest version of touchwiz, in Samsung F480 u can only have one screen for Touchwiz Widget, but in this new version, it provides 3 screen that u can put widget in it, thus give u more space to playing with the widget..dont get confused with the main menu screen, it is different..this 3 screen especially for the widget..there is bug related to widget where u cant download more than 2 from the internet, but it will be fix by the firmware later..widgets more useful as a shortcut for music player, profiles, radio etc.
~ 3D Cube : Samsung Jet also come with the 3D Cube that act as shortcut for media function..i rarely use this 3D Cube but fun playing and using it..the graphic is beauiful
~ Motion Gate : idea of this function is to use handphone only using motion such as tap, shake..ex: u can play the music player just by shaking the hp, stop it by double-tap, stop by put the hp down..customisable for media usage: video, camera, music...rarely use it, but a great addition to this hp..innovative..
~ this phone also come with QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode..really impressive with this cos i can type with ease, really fast typing can be done using this QWERTY, it have really big space for each alphabet..really useful and impressive with this function..
~ Dolfin browser: you can open up to 5 browser at the same time..
~ Connectivity : Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, standard microUSB port(data transfer & charging), GPS receiver with A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, TV out

4) Overall performance :
~ im really impress with all its function, friendly user
~ for your information, this Samsung Jet is NOT A SMARTPHONE, so u cant add any other application, only Samsung can add new function thru firmware..
~ most important features for me:
1) No lagging at all
2) Very bright, clear and crisp display
3) Wi-Fi
4) Fast processor
5) User friendly
6) Multi-tasking
7) Great music and video player, 3.5mm jack

CONS :

1) it is not a smartphone, so u cant add any new application, only Samsung can add new application thru firmware update, also..sources from Singapore Mobile said that in the near future, samsung will allow adding new software in this samsung jet, not confirm yet
2) battery :1080 mAH, means that an extensive use of this phone make the battery last for only 1 day..normal use, the battery can last >2days
3) as i said before, widget cannot be add more than 2, but it'll be update by firmware [update:already fix by firmware]
4) Asia model of Samsung Jet S8003 dont have pre-install GPS Navigation, only Europe model have the GPS Pre-installed
5) No search function for music player
6) Message limited to 500 storage

later i search 4 it..

but u can use google map and it is installed..

any java program are compatible to use with this hp..
i've installed SNAPTU..social media java program..

Website, it use the Dolfin browser, the words not small and easy to read..
it have ONE FINGER ZOOM function..
so u can maximize the internet browser, pdf, word, picture with ease..

What is smarter than smartphone means in Samsung JET?? :

1) Samsung JET have 800MHz processor : comparing to all popular SMARTPHONE like iPhone 3GS(600MHz), HTC Touch HD(528MHz). HTC Touch Pro2 (528MHz), SE Xperia (5528MHz), Samsung Omnia(624MHz)
- fast processor is a very significant features in mobile phones nowadays, fast phone processing, better experience etc.

2) Samsung JET have Exchange ActiveSync : this is the 1st non-smart phone that have this function. Samsung integrate it seamlessly with its TouchWiz UI.

3) AMOLED screen + 16 mil colours + 3.1 inch + 480x800 resolution: theres no combination of display better than this & u cant find this combination of display on any smartphones. Iphone, Blackberry & HTC smartphone : TFT display, Windows Mobile : only produce 65k colours.

4) MULITASKING : this is one of the great features of Samsung JET. Smartphones like IPhone dont provide multitasking function. Everyone wants multitasking function in their hp right. Great features.

Not smarter than smartphone in Samsung JET :

1) Samsung use its newly develop UI and proprietary OS : ToucWiz..it means that (right now, later Samsung will allow new application to be install) no extra application can be install in it. Unlike the smartphone, there are already thousand applications u can install. In Samsung JET, u can only add JAVA application.

2) No editing of PDF, Power Point and Word files. Samsung Jet can only view it.

ya..atm, smartphone categories only goes for symbian, iphone, blackberry, etc..

Samsung OS, LG a newly develop OS, so it'll take time to develop a stable OS..

in 2 or 3 years there'll be more OS and i'm sure Samsung Touchwiz OS will be one of it...

Samsung will be launching their own Samsung Application Store thi year,
and info from Samsung Malaysia, there'll will be application store also for Samsung phone that use Touchwiz UI..

these are all the process to make TouchWiz as the smartphone platform OS in the near future..

1) No distortion, its the same as when u open youtube in pc
2) Yes, if u open the music player through widget or cube shortcut, it'll directly go to the last played music
3) Yup im using the internal 2Gb memory..i think in Malaysia, they only sell the 2GB internal memory..ive called many samsung shop before i bought mine, they only sell 2GB version...maybe later they'll release the 8GB/16GB version
4) Till now, i dont experience any lagging when opening pictures, musics, videos..although i have a large sum of media files
5) I usually open all this website using my phone:

- therepublikofmancunia.com
- youtube.com

i can say it render it perfectly, fast and same as using pc..BUT when i'm surfing youtube, it render the website a bit slow..maybe becos of many flash in youtube..maybe becos of that..

yup, since internal memory 2GB is too small, you should use external memory, Samsung Jet can support until 16GB memory..

audio quality on earphone is good, it have the optional 5.1 sound effect function, so it'll give surround sound..

Media function of Samsung Jet is very good, both audio & video..

1) widget that previously couldnt download, now u can d/l as much as u want..
2) keyboard key improvement, new layout..and easier typing
3) browser render more fast
4) New Navigation Software, Route66, but i couldnt find malaysia navigation map..where to find it?
5) touch sensitivity become more better
6) new icons(message)
7) the end call button will terminate the prgram, and cube button will provide multitasking, not terminate the program

what do u mean by camera module?? is it the features/function?

while driving? hehe..never try yet..
for me, typing sms in portrait / landscape(QWERTY keyboard) mode is very easy..
the space for every number/alphabet for sms is very big..so u can msg at ease..


when typing there is tactile feedback, mske it like u press a button while typing..
IMO really easy to type msg..

oww, but please check wether they will give u the original warranty card from Samsung Electronics and also all the accessories..
if all included, that's a good price..

what do u mean by not sensitive?
i can say there are large improvements when u flash to the latest europe firmware..

cons: there's no chinese, bahasa melayu language for europe firmware, one of the widget is in russian language anyway i didnt really use that widget(all other widgets in english)


its ok if u wanna wait for asian firmware, the phone still great but have some minor bugs..
