@ck_yoong,
Well that is really based on demand and supply; on a free market kinda trade. As it is, people are oredi selling the iPhone 4 16GB @ RM3.2k. Whether or not U decide to buy it at the price is ur prerogative.

Maybe I should join team with people who price hike like in cantonese people say " chan fo ta kip" tongue.gif

Anyway the how does the pre-order run..?

Do I need to line up long queues in front of maxis center just to pre-order and pay deposit..?

Last time pre-order done only at specific maxis centers or all maxis centers..?

@ck_yoong,
U pre-book and pre-order when it's available. Last time, U register, pay RM200 and wait for them to call U when stocks are available biggrin.gif

Well, I won't be surprised if they start distributing in mid August however, late would be fine as long as it isn't like last year...

I think you guys will experience the same "long wait iPhone 3GS" syndrome. A lot of people calling Maxis almost everyday just to know when their will arrive. And then , you will see some other people get much easier from Singapore etc. And more people will get more frustrated...

Is it worth waiting the pre-order from maxis or Digi...? Or just a slightly expensive iPhone 4 from Singapore..? hehe..

if the singapore set can offer lower or same price with the discounted price offered by digi/maxis

yeah, not worth it

else, better get the iphone locally, cheaper + attractive call plans (i hope)

think getting the phone with warranty gives a piece of mind. as oppose to going to sg to claim warranty

My opinion is get from malaysia better even though need to wait a few weeks/months more because warranty claims much easier.

I can just walk into a maxis center myself at my own sweet time and always call maxis to chase them easily as compare to going to singapore. If I go to singapore claim warranty myself I have to do two trips one to send it in for repair and another to collect the phone.

Even if got seller claim from singapore for you, it will be more frustrating because the iphone have to go through an extra hand for warranty claim whereas Malaysia set I deal direct with Maxis/Digi. Plus hopefully the seller is honest too.

However if you always travel or work in Singapore I think getting a Sing/Mal set won't make a difference.

@E-J@1,
iPhone call plans are never attractive! I'm still hoping to go the route of getting an officially unlocked phone; whether it's SG or AU I haven't quite decided but I've a strong feeling I'll be able to get my hands on the AU sets quicker than the SG sets.

@yeahh,
Yes.. warranty can be something up for consideration but thus far, thankfully I've been quite lucky I guess biggrin.gif

dont be an ignorant, you barely know me yet you think you do, Maxis plan is such that you pay a monthly commitment and you pay for the phone price upfront/one shot? do you get the formula or not, do read more and come back when you do understand, theres even information posted in the beginning of this thread have a look before posting such a simplistic question?

LOL u missed the point la bro. u dont have to pay full price. it's an option, but since not all of us here are loaded, got other plans

u pick either ivalue 1, 2, 3 n 4... ivalue1 is rm100 per month, ivalue2 is rm155 per month... ivalue 3 n 4 u look urself

but u need to pay a certain amount for the phone in the 1st place. for example 16gb 3gs, 2 year contract for ivalue 1, u pay rm1590, then another rm100 per month up to 24 months. the rest same formula

if u cant pay 1590 one shot... then go for other ivalue plans. but over 2 years it'll be more expensive. depends on ur usage la worth it or not. for me, ivalue 3 and ivalue 4 too much...

mind ur attitude though

forgive me for my disappointment, my bad that is. i still dont understand. i have read the 1st page. most of the things i understand, except the plans. for example, if i took the ivalue 1 plans, it stated there RM100 monthly, so i have to pay RM100 monthly right? but as u mention, i still need to pay a certain amount when i took the ivalue 1 plan. and is that RM100 includes calls n sms? thanks a lot for the reply. i really2 appreciate it.

Yes, you would have to pay something called an 'advance payment'. This amount would vary depending on the plan you choose. In your case, you'd have to pay RM 200 (for 12 months) or RM 400 (for 24 months). This advance payment will be divided equally over a period of 5 months.

This RM 100/mth plan does include calls (333 minutes worth) and SMS (100). Anything on top of that you'd have to pay more.

Hope I helped you understand it better. smile.gif
