QUOTE(Intrigue @ Sep 1 2009, 12:45 AM) tinkerbel. So if i hardly use for the data services.. does that mean i will lose out RM50 of the money i paid? Or is it can be RM70 on calls and RM30 on data? As i make calls more than on data. let me answer this, i assume you are on ivalue 100, theres clearly a separation between data and voice at 50:50, so if you dont utilize your date up to RM50 you lose money i think, but if you use more than RM50 on calls, it wont eat up the data allocation of the credit hence you have to pay more for voice. If i were you i'd take value plan 50, plus idata 30 albeit paying for the phone more,at RRP. P/s: what does the 500mb data cap on idata 50 translate into,in terms of hours of actual real world usage? im contemplating between the RM30 and RM50 idata, im not that big on the savings from the idata50, my usage is merely for emergency use of 3G only plus receiving mails and occasional tweets, reason why im asking is im always at wifi enabled places, college, home and shops etc etc. This post has been edited by nimrod323: Sep 1 2009, 12:53 AM

QUOTE(mac.tay @ Sep 1 2009, 10:12 AM) for me, 250MB is juz not enof for basic daily usage. if u take RM30 for 250MB den u use extra 2MB oredi cost u additional RM20, den no different u take RM50.
most important is RM50 can save $ on RPP.
pls note lot wifi place cant connect at all or slow oso. i prefer using maxis 3g anyw w/o turn on/off my iphone wifi be honest maxis 3g speed now is ok compared last time. hi thanks for the prompt answer! lol tahts something to think about, its better to have more bandwith than a bare minumum. yep i agree the coverage is better im using the maxis huawei modem, quite good i must say can get reception on the PLUS highway even!

QUOTE(childish_gal81 @ May 14 2010, 04:47 PM) hello, Do you think after 4G launch, the phone price will drop? what phone price will drop? you are not being specific here? and since when are our telcos moving to the 4G cellular network? SARCASM KAW KAW contrary to popular beliefs the iphone price would not drop 3GS that is, it'll cease to exist, unless they plan to have a rerun of one of the 16GB versions around like the 8GB 3G iphones that were sold together with the 3GS. the new Iphone(insert an apple devised name here) will maintain the same price point.

QUOTE(ITrocks @ Jun 9 2010, 07:42 PM) That's why I'm upgrading Will probably have to sell my iPod touch and N85 to get the funds though, the prices for the 3GS phones are pretty insane so the iPhone 4's probably going to be even more insane. Thanks for the info! depends if you buy it outright or with a plan, the latter is cheaper depending on the plan taken.

QUOTE(ITrocks @ Jun 9 2010, 10:28 PM) Yea, but I don't really call and SMS heavily enough to justify buying it with a plan. If you buy it with the prepaid plan from Maxis you get 500MB free every month anyway, and I'll probably be leaving after a year, so that plan's pretty good for me first year free only. so yeah im guessing you are not affected with that price tag, why did you say its expensieve in teh first place

QUOTE(ITrocks @ Jun 10 2010, 12:33 AM) Because it's RM3000 I bought my mid-range laptop for that price my retort shud have been put like this "if you have already made up your mind to get it outright from maxis at retail price, no point complaining its expensive(we here kinda figured that part out since '07), the need justifies the means". QUOTE(ronramka @ Jun 11 2010, 02:39 PM) me too.. waited for 6 months for Apple to announce the i4 but then have to wait another 2-3 months for i4 officially come to Malaysia my friend, he works for Maxis..i'm not counting on it too, but if its true, me want to camp outside KLCC lah
Dang, if its really in july i dont mind camping either mate. But i hopelah maxis has extra units just in case we get defective ones, from my experience last year customers have to wait almost one month of iphone replacement, its best you guys bring your laptop with a 3g modem to test it out on the spot, make sure any scratches around the 30pin, the headphone jack, the top mic and around the bezel because if you tka puas hati satriaght away RMA claim.

QUOTE(ronramka @ Jun 11 2010, 04:15 PM) noted.. will check all that listed above hais, just like my friend..bought 3GS 2 weeks ago.. that time very panas terik, went in his car heard popping sound, his screen got crack snet back to maxis, have to wait for 3 weeks coz they send the unit back to SG for warranty pity him wah sad case lah, never ever leave the phone in the car, your windscreen might get broken and not only that your iphone ambient sensors and your proximity sensors might spoil because of the searing heat. Ok heres a list of things to look out for: 1. yellow screen 2. dead pixels 3. loose buttons 4. speaker issues 5. dust in screen 6. scratches or hairline crack around the 30pin connector, the mute button, volume button, the three seams, top headphone jack, top mic. QUOTE(samngcheesan @ Jun 11 2010, 04:33 PM) now no need to wait that long liao customer sent in the phone 2 jun then 10 jun got the replacement liao
depends if maxis has any replacement units available or not lah, most of the times like any mac computer or products part come from SG and also depends on the SG side if they have the part or not.

Expect preordering date availability announcements from Maxis to come soon. thanks string, maybe the the amount of early interest would compel them to procure it faster, but this is just wishful thinking. good news indeed.

QUOTE(vexus @ Jun 15 2010, 05:51 PM) you can email to their customer service center for inquiries. They definitely will call you for the preorder. My friend does it too and it works, but only applicable for postpaid user if not mistaken. thanks i called them up already, postpaid users can call and let them know what capacity and colour you are interested in and they'll send you an email, i have yet to receive it, vexus how about you?

QUOTE(teikwing @ Jun 16 2010, 08:20 PM) sent a query via their website and got a call from one of the CS today. was told the same Q3 story told (Aug/Sep) and told him i would like to have my name on the pre-order list. weird thing is the CS told me my name is already in the system for the pre-order, although i am pretty sure i did not contact Maxis on the any pre-order matter prior to this. i dont think there is a pre order list per se, its possible an interest list, they noted my interest under my account details, their CS seem to give me conflicting details(as always). Lets see ow this plays out, they should come up with an interest page soon judging from string's attachment

QUOTE(berper @ Jun 17 2010, 03:11 PM) Hi, I sent in my iphone 3gs for repair.. there is a crack in the inner screen (not on the surface of the glass). MAXIS took it in for repair and when i was asked to collect it,I got a new iphone (without box). I asked if it is refurbished set and the maxis guy told me it is not. I came home and check it online. Apparently, serial number which start with 5k is refurbished set and model start with MB and mine matches all those. What should i do? Can i get a brand new non refurbished replacement phone?
- Waited 2 weeks for my replacement set- no i doubt so, essentially it doesnt make any difference between a refurbish or a new set as they follow the faulty phone's warranty, plus this how phone companies work anyways, more of a recycling program. Rest assured that MB could also mean its an older batch, so even with an extensive guide you cannot ascertain that its a refurbish or not since they are not apple technicians. You could always press your luck though, and get back to us here

QUOTE(berper @ Jun 17 2010, 04:22 PM) I read one of the thread in lowyat.net which says..MAXIS warranty T&C said, they have the rights to replace you with refurbished phone, is that true? I dont have a copy of the T&C with me.I just think that if if it is a refurbished unit, the staff should tell us the truth instead of saying it is a new unit. Question: i bought my iphone in october 2009, the warranty will be due oct 2010. I got a replacement in june, does that mean my replacement phone will have another 1 year of warranty? or it will just last till oct 2010? Anyone encounter this before? if that is so, then there is nothing you can do, should have read the contract and understand the T&C, its not up to them to inform you, plus i doubt lower level staff to know if its news or a refurb and again at this moment of time unless you are a certified apple engineer/technician you wouldnt know if its a refurb also. I have said it already, the replacement will follow the your original phone's warranty, if its like you said, i keep on having replacement iphone for the rest of my life.
