launch date apparently is 24th July. Stock would be available immediately... as usual, PLEASE pre-order, otherwise it will be first-come-first-serve.
As we saw in Singapore, if its totally sold out on launch date...

excuse me Maxis has a choice here... why can't they offer special pricing to their iPhone customer? they are offering iValue with iPhone purchase from them. Since they are subsidising the phone, why should they offer iPhone packages to overseas iPhones? if you think this plan is discriminatory, the only way to affect Maxis is to switch to another carrier. Nothing else will work... cos they're still getting your money and money talks

for main line conversions, you need to proceed to a Maxis Center (not a dealer) a. bring the principal line & supp line holder in person. b. bring an authorisation letter from the principal.
you can also call 123 from Maxis lines for confirmation.

@Bellatrix LeStrange there's no free iPhone.
to get an iPhone from Maxis, you need to pay for 2 things on the day you get your phone. A+B. C = monthly charges, for phone bill. A = price of iPhone. B = advance payment.
I'm gonna use the minimums, you can check the Maxis iPhone page for more details.
A = RM2290 B = RM200 total RM2490. now, the RM200 (B) will be used to contra your first 5 Maxis bills - RM40 ... so your bill will be less by RM40 per month.
obviously, Maxis will be happier if you sign up 2 year contract for RM 250 per month... than you can adjust my A & B examples. ok? ask me in PM if you still not clear, don't ask in this thread. already 100 pages...

dude... chill you and I have been explaining the damn plan to people for 26 months now... still got people who get it wrong. I'm glad BLS here got it right. @Optiplex330 the iPhone 3G[S] 16 & 32 are being phased out for the iPhone4 16 & 32, so what you see is a clearance sale. I'd advise you to buy the new model, but its ultimately up to you. I know that when the iPhone 3G came out with GPS built-in, I was able to navigate almost anywhere without getting lost. If I had gotten the iPhone2G at that point... I would have missed out on the full experience of what iOS2 and iOS3 could do...

@dvlzplayground yeah... I dun feel like dropping US$10 for an app like Docs to Go without testing it out myself. DataViz made some very very good Docs to Go for the Palm OS back in the day, that was free on my TungstenT|3 ...
@Optiplex330 There's a built-in viewer for most document formats... editing is thru 3rd party apps.

Apple = everything in the box has warranty. so for iPhone3G & 3G[S], you can claim warranty on the phone itself, the USB cable, the wall plug. all 1 year. source > Apple.com

@tinkerbel if its user damage, then they'll just give you back the 'broken' one... that's why its 3-4 weeks. they send it out to claim, no one-to-one replacements.
@tssoo um... I think you're being unreasonable, cos even when I claimed my Motorola charger, and my previous Sony Ericsson charger, I had to wait for them to repair it... in the mean-time, I got myself a spare. since we can now buy clone cables for less than RM30... why not? just don't use clone USB adapters...

@HappyGOLuckyme yes, you will be paying RM250 for your bill, RM50 (mum) RM30 for yours.
before that, you will need to bring her to the Maxis Centre, and upgrade yourself to a principal line. This is cos the RM250 is used solely for your name + phone number, cannot be supplementary line. Also cos the contract will be you signing it, not your mum. you both need to bring your MyKAD.

@tssoo call the hotline and report him. write a formal complaint and report him.
its totally unacceptable for a Maxis staff to be uninformed about a product they've been carrying for 18 months...
even if you claimed an iPod or Mac power cable, you will need to wait for the replacement, and that's normal. 4 weeks is a little too long though.
