no i doubt so, essentially it doesnt make any difference between a refurbish or a new set as they follow the faulty phone's warranty, plus this how phone companies work anyways, more of a recycling program. Rest assured that MB could also mean its an older batch, so even with an extensive guide you cannot ascertain that its a refurbish or not since they are not apple technicians. You could always press your luck though, and get back to us here

I read one of the thread in lowyat.net which says..MAXIS warranty T&C said, they have the rights to replace you with refurbished phone, is that true? I dont have a copy of the T&C with me.

I just think that if if it is a refurbished unit, the staff should tell us the truth instead of saying it is a new unit.

Question: i bought my iphone in october 2009, the warranty will be due oct 2010. I got a replacement in june, does that mean my replacement phone will have another 1 year of warranty? or it will just last till oct 2010?

Anyone encounter this before?

if that is so, then there is nothing you can do, should have read the contract and understand the T&C, its not up to them to inform you, plus i doubt lower level staff to know if its news or a refurb and again at this moment of time unless you are a certified apple engineer/technician you wouldnt know if its a refurb also. I have said it already, the replacement will follow the your original phone's warranty, if its like you said, i keep on having replacement iphone for the rest of my life.

Maxis or Apple DO NOT have any obligatory to give you a new set when you send in to repair.

You send in broken goods, it will be fixed. How it get fixed or if they give you a new set, it based on their discretion.

Maxis is quite slow. It has been a week since I sent in my 3GS for warranty.

The CSC can't even check the status for me. I have to walk-in and ask =.=

Hi people. Now that the iPhone 4 is bound to arrive here soon, do you think Maxis will lower the price of their iPhone 3GS some more real soon? What do you guys think?

I bought my 3GS a few weeks ago during the anniversary promotion (RM200 reduced price), but now I see from their website the price is back up again...aiya...need to buy one for the wife sad.gif

price revision for the 3GS is definitely imminent. just like what Apple did in the States, but only the 8GB version of the 3GS is available.

teikwing: Thanks for your prompt reply. Glad to hear u think the price revision is imminent..but when do you think they'll do it? I've been browsing the Maxis website for days now, and the price for the 3GS is still the same post-anniversary promotion price. sad.gif

Errm, not sure if I get what u mean by "but only the 8GB version of the 3GS is available"..? If possible, I want the 16GB version..do you mean Maxis will stop selling the 16GB and 32GB 3GS version after this?

Anyone knows if I am able to use multi-sim and share the 3GB quota for my iData3 in both iPhone and Modem?

I plan to use it as unlimited 3G internet at home with maximum RM250 charges. Just hit the max, and I have unlimited usage.

But can it work by having multi-sim for both iPhone and modem?

my 2 cents worth, i am looking at the price revision after iPhone 4 has been released. there might be some stock leftovers of the 16GB and 32GB and they might be more affordable. once these stocks are cleared, 3GS will still co-exist together with the 4 but only in the 8GB version. that's what happening in countries like the States and the UK. smile.gif

its similar to a sim card. Currently i guess they are only offering this for Data plans.

Expect voice plan sims to be released when the iphone 4 is official released

I spoke to a Maxis staff. For now only can use Data on the microsim. It's meant for iPad. You CANNOT make call with it.

However I'm quite sure they will come up with a compatible simcard when iPhone 4 is out.

Collected my refurbished 3GS yesterday. Their staff said that they no longer have new sets for replacement. Probably they are clearing stock. Hopefully iP4 will be here asap.

they don't give new set in the 1st place. it's always refurbished.

Some of their staffs said some of the replacement sets are new according to a LYN forumer. I think it depends on availability. If you send in your phone on the first week of launch, I don't think they have a refurbished set for you. Instead, they'll probably give a new set.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
