maxis customer service called me up just now. They ask me am i interested to purchase the new iphone4 16gb or 32gb. they said it will be launch in 3Q 2010 which will fall in September or earlier. They record my name and contact in the preorder queue list.

hmm, this is weird are you part of their corporate customers or something?

nope. I'm not corporate customer but a loyal customer more than 10years.

ah thanks for the heads up, at this point up time i feel compelled to call them up but i think not everyone in the CS department are aware of this.

you can email to their customer service center for inquiries. They definitely will call you for the preorder. My friend does it too and it works, but only applicable for postpaid user if not mistaken.

thanks i called them up already, postpaid users can call and let them know what capacity and colour you are interested in and they'll send you an email, i have yet to receive it, vexus how about you?

wierd, i think yesterday i post question regarding the os version of iphone 3G sold by maxis during the 'promotion' period (the rebate rm400 ones). hmm.

sent a query via their website and got a call from one of the CS today. was told the same Q3 story told (Aug/Sep) and told him i would like to have my name on the pre-order list.

weird thing is the CS told me my name is already in the system for the pre-order, although i am pretty sure i did not contact Maxis on the any pre-order matter prior to this.

i dont think there is a pre order list per se, its possible an interest list, they noted my interest under my account details, their CS seem to give me conflicting details(as always). Lets see ow this plays out, they should come up with an interest page soon judging from string's attachment

my guess is it should be officially revealed once the world cup ends.

just got a call from maxis, apparently they're are gonna launch the iphone4 either late august or early september...i guess that's fast enough

Hi,

I sent in my iphone 3gs for repair.. there is a crack in the inner screen (not on the surface of the glass).


MAXIS took it in for repair and when i was asked to collect it,I got a new iphone (without box).

I asked if it is refurbished set and the maxis guy told me it is not.


I came home and check it online. Apparently, serial number which start with 5k is refurbished set and model start with MB and mine matches all those.


What should i do? Can i get a brand new non refurbished replacement phone?

I seriously think you should call/talk to Maxis.

no i doubt so, essentially it doesnt make any difference between a refurbish or a new set as they follow the faulty phone's warranty, plus this how phone companies work anyways, more of a recycling program. Rest assured that MB could also mean its an older batch, so even with an extensive guide you cannot ascertain that its a refurbish or not since they are not apple technicians. You could always press your luck though, and get back to us here
