I'm just gonna wait for my bills next month and will confirm with them the calculation since I have itemized billing to my email.
*
changed my mind as I analyzed acid's statement of account.

it seems that for usage below your monthly commitment, there won't be any rebates as any remaining airtime can't be carried forward.

but for usage exceeding monthly commitment such as acid's, I noticed he was given a rebate for UNUSED free SMS? assuming he's on the newer iValue 1 package (which gives 100 free SMS), he only sent 21 SMS that month and got rebated for 79 SMS which amounts to rm7.90.

this means that we can disregard the equations given by both operators, and figure out the actual question instead.

are unused amounts only rebated to usage above the commitment fee?

I thought iValue1 RM100 = talktime? From your bill it seems like RM50 is for talktime and RM50 is for data. If that's the case you're actually paying more?

Then what is the difference between iValue and iData? Doesn't make sense to me. I am also considering iValue1 but looking at the billing structure it seems like we're getting conned. sad.gif

toytoy, if you analyze the plans closely you'd realize that the iValue plans are more or less modified Value plans just for iPhones.

in this case, iValue 1 is similar to Value 50, except you are paying rm50 more for these...

1. 500mb data plan.
2. 100 free SMS to on-net.
3. rebate for iPhone purchase, depending on your tenure of contract.

for airtime, iValue 1 is charged at a flat rate of 15c whereas Value 50 charges 12c for on-net and 18c for off-net. you get more value for off-net calls if you're using iValue 1. if you make more calls to other Maxis lines, then value 50 might be more economical.

the iData plan just isn't worth it, as you only get to retain your Value plan and slightly cheaper (thus more minutes) on-net airtime at the cost of 100 SMS.

you decide.

Hello, i3G, only 8gb is still available in the market. 16gb is no more. You can, provided there is stock available. Please check with Maxis about the price.

If you care to read the threads, you will know that there is a long waiting list for the 3GS 16gb. However, you can grab a 32gb on the run at most of the Maxis centres and without contract too.

yup bro, ivalue 100, even if you use less than RM100, you will need to pay 100, cause that's the min charged fees... however, if you exceed RM100, you will have to pay the remaining others as well smile.gif

i must admit that, i'm beginning to like how hotlink is running their mobile internet these days (what a great and steep improvement from last time). not to mention, satisfactory coverage and speed as well (at least for the places, that i typically patronise)

just look at how attentive, hotlink is, with regard to my data consumption.

two thumbs up! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Yes, the 16gb variant comes in white. But whether Maxis has stock, you have to check. Anyway, for 16gb, you have to pre-book.

From the screenshot, you can see that Maxis won't allow you to exceed the limit. They will 'renew the pass' and if you do not want 'extension', you have to deactivate. That is the pure business way.

I believe you can do it online at the Maxis Website or you can walk in to any Maxis centre.
