Just got myself an A42jr last 2 days. So far so good. But the machine tends to lag often whenever I open 2 windows or more.. Is windows7 that bad? First time using though. Been using xp before this.

Check whether are you using power saver as your power plan.

Have been using wins 7 for 3 months and everything is running fine and smooth. I'm using 64-bit on 4gb of ram tho.

replace the hinge and motherboard (BIOS dead also need change?)

the recovery Disc cant be use. Even sealed and never use until that day. insert the disc and select recover, show a large 'ERROR"......

What can i do for that? use back the HDD and new SSD, the recovery disc also cant be use...large "ERROR" come out....

Now use Windows 7 with SSD......

probably did not recognize the SSD???

my asus u80v already 1 month still in service center. why asus service so slow??? they promise to get it done within 2 weeks. haiz..

i just bought Asus K40IN notebook,
seems to be having some problems..
Asus is popular with its gaming capabilities right?
When i put in the charger while im playing games, it becomes lagged and slow.
But when im on batteries, everything seems fine

Is this Model really problematic?

Have you checked the power management?
It should be balanced or performance mode when plugged in...

already did that...but still the same...i've send it to the seller coz it still in warranty but still the same...they told me that they already replaced new motherboard...how can i know whether they really change it??they dont even format my laptop after change new mtherboard

Well changing motherboard doesn't really need to reformat ...
Check on the nvidia control panel? perhaps got settings for battery mode and plugged in mode?

my friend also bought same model with me...but he dont have any problem....i also use same nvidia setting like him...but still the same...u think what might be the problem????

Well, since you said its fine when battery mode, and only slow down when plugged in, usually the problem is the power management set wrongly...

Have you tried reinstall the nvidia driver, with the latest one?

I have an Asus EEE 900 netbook which I bought in October 2008 which came with Windows XP.

I am currently having problems with my Windows XP. I don't know why but it just couldn't boot up. Something to do with missing dll.

How do I reinstall Windows XP on the netbook when there's no disc in the box.

I downloaded the Asus EEE iso but don't know how to reinstall it. Can I send to Asus Service Centre?
