No problem, you are added into the User list ya.
Em, the bank do not allow him to go for installment ?
Normally if the merchant do not provide any installment plan for the customer, customer can always call the bank after they had swipe the card. But the bank will still add 3-4% of processing fees into your total amount.
Don't worry, if your friend do not have bad record in that bank, it shouldn't be a problem.
Just simply sms me if you need my help.

Has anyone imported the N81Vp from eBay (or similar sites) into Malaysia? I just ordered one. Invoice price is US$1,170 + US$103.40 for laptop itself and shipping respectively.

That translates to roughly RM4097 + RM362 = RM4459.

But now scared whether when reach Malaysia will kena charge AP (import permit) fees from SIRIM anot. Or any customs duties or tax. Moreover not using private courier like DHL. Using USPS Priority Mail International only. Anyone has any experience to share?

Thanks for your replies.

I live in Singapore (I'm Malaysian though), same as Astria, but the rules are different here. For Singapore, it is explicitly stated (on the Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority Website, FAQ Section) that laptops will be charged a 7% GST.

Anyway, I seemed to have answered my own question. I hope this would help everyone else.

Good news: the answer is, both sales tax and import duties for this laptop is zero.

Reason being laptop falls under heading 8471.30 of the World Custom's Organization HS Nomenclature, and 8471 is non-taxable under the Royal Malaysian Customs. See the screen shot I've attached for conclusive proof biggrin.gif so if they send me a letter, or hold up my laptop, I'll chop their asses off tongue.gif

Can't wait for my laptop to arrive!

Guys i need an opinion. I'm soon gonna be an Asus user. In my mind, I got two models that I've been eyeing

Asus k40AB or Asus K50AB, both having similar spec but the diff is that the K40 have 320gb hdd, where K50 have bigger screen and full keyboard.

I'm torn between these two. Any other things that are diff with these models? What you guys opinion on these two Asus?

Is there noticeable diff in weight in those two? If the weight is not much, 200-300grams then it is ok, coz most of the time the laptop will only be on top of the cooler on top of the table.

Battery wise, is the extra 1"++ is taking much battery?

Laptops with numpad is kinda cool. But 320GB hdd of the K40 is tempting, sadly, I've not encountered any shop that offered 320GB option for the K50.
