Guys i need an opinion. I'm soon gonna be an Asus user. In my mind, I got two models that I've been eyeing
Asus k40AB or Asus K50AB, both having similar spec but the diff is that the K40 have 320gb hdd, where K50 have bigger screen and full keyboard.
I'm torn between these two. Any other things that are diff with these models? What you guys opinion on these two Asus?

Is there noticeable diff in weight in those two? If the weight is not much, 200-300grams then it is ok, coz most of the time the laptop will only be on top of the cooler on top of the table.
Battery wise, is the extra 1"++ is taking much battery?
Laptops with numpad is kinda cool. But 320GB hdd of the K40 is tempting, sadly, I've not encountered any shop that offered 320GB option for the K50.

QUOTE(astria @ Aug 28 2009, 01:09 PM) well, battery life wise, both should be abt the same... the main problem is, will u be taking it out often... I'm not planning to take it out often. I think in 1 month, maybe around 2-3 times wanna go out and have free WiFi somewhere. Majority of the times the laptop will just sit there on top of my desk. Is it OK to leave the laptop without any cooler? My old S41 I can leave it there for 2 weeks without any cooling and it still rocks and warm to touch. How about the K40/K50? I heard AMD Lappy pantang takde Cooler. I lazy want to go page by page, but what is this U80 specs and price are like? Is it rare? I cant find it in any WTS forum.

better get the Studio than the m1530. like nothing says. 8 series = timebomb. Just a matter of time before it broke down. buy the extended warranty if you want the m1530 badly.

if you use higher bit OS, you can run lower bit application. they have the nessessary files for that. but not in reverse. you can run higher bit aps in lower bit OS.

Asus have designed the new k40/k50 to be cool on the palm rest. only the upper part of the keyboard can feel a slight heat. Good thing for Users and more and more Asus laptops are designed that way.

install any game you want. but just dont aspect it to be run in native reso. most game you have to find the sweet spot. like red alert 3 uprising, i uesd the medium setting, but lowered the shadow.
