on the other hand, u can compare the one in XBOX360, which is by ATi... iirc, it's a prototype of R600 (aka HD 2900 series)

yes imported from BEST BUY through FED EX. USD 999 for laptop. which is not even rm 3600. all together plus tax and import fees up to rm 4k.

actually i wanted HP at start coz i already got hp dv9930us which gives me good impression but then HP dont have graphics card as cool as this for my below 4.2k budget. LOL and this laptop is on offer last 2 weeks ago. so click add to cart n here i go.  so far very very satisfied, one thing is the fan gets pretty hot fast. need cooler and air cond room to extend its life. ohya, i nv buy laptop in malaysia. all my laptops are either when i go to US or i ask them send over. because i went to lowyat not even laptops there are as latest and as price-wise.

320GB SATA hard drive (7200 rpm) and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics and 2 hours and 7 minutes battery life for such resource-exhausting laptop is its high point.
the only low point so far for me, is its processor Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile 2.0GHz and its camera but bah, its primed for gaming

Quality of the screen? Since both have the same resolution, it is obvious that the smaller screen will look sharper as the pixel distribution is over a smaller space. Most people are just confused by this. Haha

well its been running for the last 12 hours or so, the palm rest is cool as ice and the only part slightly warm is the numeric keypad area (near the charger port).

don't think heating will be such an issue it is made out to be, but if it does then forum members have already suggested the voltage reduction mod. build quality and screen are fantastic, puts the dell studio 15 to shame! doing music conversions using dBpoweramp ref 13 and lame is encoding at 32x encoding speed, fan turns on (usually silent while browsing or office 2007) but couldnt notice any difference in temperature on top or bottom

Has anyone imported the N81Vp from eBay (or similar sites) into Malaysia? I just ordered one. Invoice price is US$1,170 + US$103.40 for laptop itself and shipping respectively.

That translates to roughly RM4097 + RM362 = RM4459.

But now scared whether when reach Malaysia will kena charge AP (import permit) fees from SIRIM anot. Or any customs duties or tax. Moreover not using private courier like DHL. Using USPS Priority Mail International only.  Anyone has any experience to share?
