Guys,
Do you think this TV is too big for 7 to 8 feet viewing distance?
*
No. Read up on the general rules for seating distance, i.e. 1.5x - 2x screen width.

Currently looking for HD ready 50inch plasma. Have seen 50x10k playing upscaled kungfu panda dvd in HN pavilion and looks fantastic. Went over to desa LYP and saw LG 50pq30 (RM5399) and Samsung 50b430 (RM5499). However, when test upscale dvd on Sammy (movie called Red Line i think), saw an unacceptable amount of judder when camera pan across a scene and during endroll credits. SA then showed Philips LCD with HD natural motion and it was much smoother (though depth was much better on plasma). Was the Sammy not set up properly or the judder is there for lower end plasmas?

From what I've read, 24p movies do have some judder in them. If the TV doesn't have some form of frame interpolation then you will see some judder in certain panning scenes.

So maybe the Sammy doesn't have such feature?

I don't really fancy 24P as I don't think it have any significant on picture quality. I am using 1080P/60 and so far i have absolutrly no problem at all.

Yeah 60p would definitely be smoother. But all this would depend on the movie right? And most movies are in 24p.

Yes, all bluray are 24P, but 60 is perfectly fine. That is why I dont really bother if my supports 24p or not.

My very very sincere apologies......it's the X10, a million apologies. (The S10 will only be in-stock this week sometime). Very pai-seh..I heard S, he said X...we've gone "X-ray" and "S-arawak" now, to avoid further confusion.

Here is the first pro review of the TX-P50S10.

Review

Looks like the cheap price of this new plasma tv from panasonic is cheap for a reason...entry level with so so picture only. Here is the first pro review of the TX-P50S10.

Added on July 6, 2009, 11:27 pmFor those of u still undecided between the G10 or the S10 pana plasma, this review from whathifi might help you decides.

Whathifi review

One thing surprising from 2 pro reviews is that the TX-P50S10's image is not as sharp or details as one would like. That is strange considering the fact that this is a Full HD screen.
