QUOTE(michaeltan1943 @ Jul 1 2009, 02:48 PM) true. for most msians, all this plasma and lcd stuff is all crap if Astro still remains analogue. Most people go home and get a shock at the crap quality of the picture. I don't think we need to fly oversea just to see how good is HD video. In fact my LCD tv at the moment is 95% HD contents only.those who still swear that they get very good picture with Astro, obviously has not gone overseas and seen what true digital TV is on flat panels. Added on July 1, 2009, 4:22 pmAnyway, when I look at the spec on the pana website, it states that the panel used is "G12 Progressive Full-HD Plasma Display Panel". I try google it and it shows up that it is a Neopdp panel. So can someone confirm that? This post has been edited by lightning69: Jul 1 2009, 04:22 PM |

What is the cheapest 50" LCD now? I think this new full hd plasma from pana is the cheapest 50" full hd tv available in the market.
My only concern is the screen reflection now. Maybe I just have to live with some reflection for this price. |

QUOTE(arremie @ Jul 2 2009, 12:24 AM) This 50" will be excellent in a close room with no light source from side or opposite. Without the reflection, the PQ is simply stunning for the given price. I do have 2 BIG windows on the side wall and down lights in my living room. I better go check out the real tv and judge for myself. It really sucks to see reflections on the TV. |

QUOTE(michaeltan1943 @ Jul 2 2009, 07:28 AM) most people don't have a dedicated TV room and usually put it in the hall. That is where all the windows and sliding doors are, thus, reflection. Absolutely agree with you on this on. As consumer, we just have to stop buying it then they will stop producing it.It is a pity. Just like notebooks, everybody chased glossy screen to only finally realise that matte is more practicable. I had both and glossy was far worse. Clear evidence of technology digressing backwards. |

QUOTE(geforce1999 @ Jul 2 2009, 11:31 AM) My sumsung LCD also have this glossy reflection problem. It is good at night without the light on but during daytime watching it at the living room still can see the reflection... Since I have already bought it so have to leave with it... Samsung LCD with glossy screen is absolutely ridiculous. Its another way manufacturer use to make their screen APPEAR nicer! Will never buy one of those.I can understand when plasma have reflective screen because of the technology that requires real glass. But LCD can do away with reflection screens yet samsung choose to go that route. Silly! |

QUOTE(shuttersyok @ Jul 3 2009, 01:24 AM) the reflective screen is advisable for movie cos it improves contrast..as movie is suppose to be watch in a dim environment just like in the cinema..but as for computer monitor, the mirror reflective surface is the pain in the axx. But Tv manufacturer should know that 95% of the Tv are use in household that is bright.if i am not mistaken, Sony is the pioneer in adapting this reflective surface for its LCD ccomputer monitor.. |

QUOTE(jchong @ Jul 6 2009, 12:30 PM) From what I've read, 24p movies do have some judder in them. If the TV doesn't have some form of frame interpolation then you will see some judder in certain panning scenes. I don't really fancy 24P as I don't think it have any significant on picture quality. I am using 1080P/60 and so far i have absolutrly no problem at all.So maybe the Sammy doesn't have such feature? |

Here is the first pro review of the TX-P50S10.
Review Looks like the cheap price of this new plasma tv from panasonic is cheap for a reason...entry level with so so picture only. Here is the first pro review of the TX-P50S10. Added on July 6, 2009, 11:27 pmFor those of u still undecided between the G10 or the S10 pana plasma, this review from whathifi might help you decides. Whathifi review One thing surprising from 2 pro reviews is that the TX-P50S10's image is not as sharp or details as one would like. That is strange considering the fact that this is a Full HD screen.
