hi guys, i am planning to buy iphone 3gs from maxis but maybe in 2-3 months time. My question is, from past experience, does maxis suffered shortage of iphones after the launching date? like waiting period of 1 month or more for new stock to arrive? (Assume the booking date is August onwards) >.<
*
Well, normally it depends on different area. Some area demands on iphone is more,so will be shortage. But most porbably you won't have to wait for 2-3 months.

have anyone tried booking under prepaid plan yet? i meant by anyone went to any maxis center and book directly under prepaid plan. not online booking.

I went to book it a maxis center miri branch. If you are not a prepaid user,u just buy a prepaid from them for RM 8.80. The they will register it under ur name,then they will help you to book it online. After that,u just pay RMN 200, and they will give you a receipt. Once you book, you will recieve the sms showing the reference number. But make sure your line is activate. You can put in any existing number despite maxis in booking form. But have to make sure the line is activate to recieve the confirmation sms. You will recieve the 2 reciept print out from the Maxis. one is RM 200 and another is RM 8.80 for the prepaid. In the receipt of RM 200,there got written deposite for Iphone.

Just paid my RM200 deposit at Maxis Centre at Gardens MidValley. Showed them my SMS and I/C and they issued me a receipt for the deposit.

Since I haven't received my confirmation email even after 24 hours, they said I will need to bring that email plus my deposit receipt when I collect my iPhone on 31/7.

They also said I could change my iValue or iData plan on 31/7 itself...only the iPhone model cannot be changed as it would already be reserved as per my booking.

@esdome,
If U want an outright purchase U have no choice but to get a prepaid package but anyhow that's just RM8.80 and there's RM4 credit inside so just use it to send SMS and be done with it lah biggrin.gif

If you have hotlink prepaid,you don't have to rebuy again. You can use it to purchase outright. Try to check in your junk mail. It might be inside. I also found the confirmation in my junk mail. Normally if u book yesterday,you will recieve your confirmation email by today.

Just booked mine at the cureve roadshow. I was under the impression that is Maxis doing the roadshow, as the sales person says that i can collect at Maxis Centre or Machines. He even said that booking over there will get their phones faster than booked thru online. (Salesman talk to get you to sign it there right away). Crap

Testing the iphone happily at the roadshow, then only found out is the 3G model. I thought under Maxis so it should be the 3GS that they let people to demo. Crap 2.

Decided to sign-up, fill up all the forms, sign sign etc. Until the last form they ask me where do i want to collect it, then only i saw there are only 4 locations to choose from. At that point i only know that they are not under Maxis, but is just one of their dealers i guess. Crap 3

They mentioned whatever problems can bring back to their shop or Maxis Centre. I hope they can handle all the warranty problems for the iphone. Damn. Crap 4

Just a query yeah - i'm unsure if i wanna splurge an extra rm500 for the extra 16GB. I mean yeah on paper wow it looks good 32GB! But in real terms of filling your iPhone up? A reasonable amount Apps + Songs + Movies would still leave tons of space right? I guess just use it as a portable hard disk too?

Which are the locations available?

After careful consideration, I think i'm getting the ivalue 1. Now, 31/7 seem like a long wait, lol
