guys how much is the FEAD i.e alternator, power steering etc. belt? does the bearing need to be changed as well?
*
U mean the belt?My bearing was noisy and i tot it's my timing belt kit and then when brought to my mech,he said it's the aircon/power steering belt.Replace it with new 1 cost RM70 inclusive labour and the noise gone. smile.gif

yeah the accesories belt, mine already making some squeaky noise during cold start, am planning to change it when i change to lighten crank pulley since the belt anyways have to be removed. i was told the belt itself was Rm45 from proton parts centre. thanks neways

edit: proton parts centre online shopping belt + shipping comes to RM76

i think changing to lightened rims might help. as for bigger rims, well, other than increased FC (for sure), nt so sure on the handling. probably better grip on the road due to the increased surface area, i guess?

At first I am a proud owner of Gen2 CPS... after seeing the Kia Forte 1.6SX two days ago, I feel our Gen2 inside is so plain & lack of features (except the power output & leather seats, but I don't mind fabric). Price only around 20k more than Gen2 CPS but cabin, boot space, dashboard design, features, engine torque & even the car remote, all also superior than Gen2... CBU somemore. Imagine if that car has no import tax... Proton you better buck up for real... most of us are forced to buy your products. Darn.

my exp from oem 15" rim change to 15" rim also.. handling wise bloody well improved alot.. no more goyang2 as with oem rim..

my rim is 15x6.5 K-speed (lightweight model).. tyre cheap 195/55/15 silverstone m5 only.. suspension system all standard..

so, i say its worth it..

I think you're refering to air-cond belt. If you're talking bout air-cond belt, I can confirm that we do not use air cond belt. Our timing belt handle air-cond fan, alternator at the same time. (I remember; cause also got conned tongue.gif)

Better buy from spare part shop and ask ur mech to install. The price from proton parts center is fair price.I think labour would be around RM30-40 only because they just need to jack up,remove aircon tensioner bearing, remove old belt, replace new one and fix back the tensioner bearing. smile.gif

How about power steering? biggrin.gif
There's no con job here coz i was there when my mech replace my acc belt 2 weeks ago.If u look beside ur engine there would be 1 plastic cover attached to the engine, that one is the timing belt and if u look beside the plastic cover, there's another belt without any cover.I'm not sure if all batch the same or not but mine, gen 2 yr05 using 2 belts. nod.gif

16" will improve handling...tyre price expensive if compared to 15" but if compared to 17" its only cheaper by rm10 so ppl would opt for 17" instead...

about fc, obviously taiwanese brand is lighter than stock so should be not too bad...increase just by bit...
