@Kazachok,
Am afraid to say I'm with hye on this one! Personally, you're not matured enough to handle your own CC if Ur thinking of getting it to get "extended financial support". Also, as you're not earning, how on earth do U intend to repay them off?

U may not like what we're saying but trust me; it's for ur own good - seriously!

@hye,
Well said rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

@zazaza2009,
Whilst it's nice to walk around in a Platinum card, U may want to be v careful with it. CCs can put u into a lot of trouble (but as U have pointed out, you know your boundaries) - I honestly do NOT know what HLB was thinking in giving you RM30k CL when your annual income reported was RM60k. Personally, I think it's wrong of the bank to do so but since it's been approved, enjoy it biggrin.gif

Also, HLB will soon be giving you extended CLs - and when this card has reached his first year mark, feel free to start your own Platinum collection.

What Gen-X was trying to say is that most of us here doesn't see CC fulfilling our "Social Needs" (Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs) hence we look to benefits more. It could be different on your end but honestly, if ur friends only wanna be your friends cause U got a Plat, these friends are better off not having tongue.gif

@winner,
UOB by far is the most kedekut. I believe they start out at RM15k CL for the Plat holders tongue.gif U of course get to accumulate and since I don't use that card often, I've capped a CL on that one biggrin.gif

@wodenus,
Yeah I meant with! tongue.gif And just cause I teased you on your holiday U don't need to be mean with to me tongue.gif

@zazaza2009,
Yes rules are set by humans and can be broken. I'm not going to add much more to what I've oredi said and as long as you're happy then it's fine.

@Fala,
Yes you're absolutely right. However, if U have a few hundred K's sitting in the bank, the banks would have offered you complementary Platinum cards long time ago. There's no need to brag about getting a Platinum card here.

@MilesAndMore,
Thanks! But nolah, me not veteran sweat.gif

@Gen-X,
Yes! My thoughts exactly. Thank You! sweat.gif

@lwb,
Eh.. I believe I'm owing U something hor?! *oopS* I'd been soOo bZz I forgot to research into Bkt Jelutong *siGh* Guess I'll be giving U a buzz one of these days biggrin.gif Or, can U make the lil effort to buzz me ah? tongue.gif

@lwb,
I haven't quite forgotten except I been all 'pecked' up by the new iPhone 3G [s] launch hence haven't been too active here. Also, like I said I don't know BJ well enough hence needed to put in a lil research - gee. .Y can't U ask me about places like Bandar Sg Long or somewhere I'm familiar with instead tongue.gif

If U wanna call, go ahead - I haven't had a chance to test my new 3G [s] on long calls anyways tongue.gif

@patricktoh,
As much as it can rival the Ah Long's interest rates, they're much stricter than the Ah Long's hence the Ah Long's are still in business biggrin.gif

@Lineage,
Er... U haf to ask urself what it is that you're after. I don't like carrying too many CCs and don't normally go with these 'short term' promos hence am not too familiar with it - perhaps U could wait for some of the other veterans to guide you biggrin.gif

As for me, my aim is to collect as much points as I can *smiles* hence I've shifted to Amex.

@fylon,
Yes that could be possible but I'm not sure if it'll come FOC or not.

@Lineage,
Amex gives 2x points + for now there's a 8x points promo if U use the card for petrol. I have this thing about not using too many CCs cause that'll dilute my reward points. However, because Amex is still not too widely used, my Citibank CC becomes my secondary CC.

@Walbur,
Weird.. I've never ever received such calls from MBB but mine is a Premier 1 Account !

@LineAge,
Er.. I use the Amex Platinum Credit Card, issued by MBB. The difference is I don't get TreatPoints but MR points biggrin.gif

@fylon,
In that case, U just need to haf the RM30k or if U haf no problems getting a CC by putting in an application then go ahead and put one in. I'm not too interested in getting anymore CCs for now biggrin.gif

@lwb,
Actually, I was just engrossed on the launch of the 3G [s] and well, making the arrangements to get a unit for meself and a couple of friends biggrin.gif However I seemed to have lost all excitement by the time the unit arrived *smiles* but all is good biggrin.gif Battery life on the G[s] is apparently better but that also depends on how I use it. I'm fully maximising my push notifications hence that's quite batt consuming. Nevertheless, let's go ahead and give it a stress test, no problemos ! biggrin.gif

Ah well.. opposite attracts, or so they say?! laugh.gif

@Lineage,
Amex cards are now issued by MBB so shouldn't be much difference; those Amex, Amex cards are basically the ones without the Maybankard logo on it biggrin.gif And the only difference I can tell is the reward points system.

@zazaza2009,
Perhaps he just doesn't want to take the risk of losing the Plat? I don't see what's wrong. However, it's weird he's got 3 separate cards from MBB because I know there's this rule whereby a cardholder cannot be issued with 2 Visas or 2 Mastercards from the same bank; unless one of which is a co-brand card biggrin.gif

@zazaza2009,
Er.. keeping Plats in the wallet doesn't help boost my ego; perhaps it's the same for your colleague too! Perhaps U think differently but there's no right or wrong in such situations.

@winner,
Uh.... I'd always post-dated my cheques for my Citibank bill payment; I used to mail the cheque off by mail but in the last few months, I would drop the cheque at the banks and thus far, no problems *shrugs*

I guess I'd been lucky but better not do it again *smiles*

@b00n,
I guess I'd just been lucky with Citibank then biggrin.gif

@zazaza2009,
As mentioned, different cards for different needs and different purposes. Plus Dozz is a big time business man hence all banks are clammering to give him cards and in order not to upset anyone, he just takes whatever they give him and keep the cards at home tongue.gif

@Dozz,
Any comments rolleyes.gif

@Dozz,
Eh... speaking of which, I'm gonna need to do some research on using my Amex MR points conversion to Air Miles..... or has someone done it and want to share the research here?

I have approximately 400k MR points to-date so wanna know where that'll take me biggrin.gif

@Dannyl,
Perhaps it's a bank policy *shrugs* Am glad someone does it besides me too and thus far, no problems still. Will report back here when Citibank finally calls me up to tell me off tongue.gif

@Optiplex330,

@zazaza2009,
Am not too sure about HLB cause I don't hold any of their cards but U should have indeed read the terms and conditions v carefully. There's no free lunch out there, remember smile.gif
