@tgeoklin, Yes I'm just wondering where the hell my stewpid maid was when the postman came! It's not like I live in a mansion where the grounds are so huge one can't hear the door bell when it rings !!! Haven't gotten my hands on that Pos Malaysia slip but looks like I will need to go pick the stuff up tomorrow after work; a bit bz today! Anyways, let's not bother about MY problems @groggysquirrel, I must have missed your first post; what was it you were asking again? @Michael_G, Just cause U don't qualify today doesn't mean U won't qualify for it later. @StormZ, Y don't U try to put your application in during the TreatsFair that's taking place from today till Sunday at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre? Perhaps they'll be more lenient with approvals at the fair? Good Luck! PS: There is a possibility U be able to get up to RM5k CL but that's depending on the individual banks.

@ronnie, What kind of reports do U want?! I'm thinking, my meeting here finishes at 4PM (YES! I'm in a meeting whilst responding to this) and am available till 8PM so wondering if I should drop by the fair this evening or go only tomorrow Let me know what U want to know so I can check it out and report back later, if I decide to go

@WoodStock, I'll check and revert when I get back - looks like I have to make a trip to MV lah now isn't it? I also think there's much more things available for sale at the TreatsFair then what they've put on the brochures lah.

@ks98, It would be good if U could bring the documentations but if U have an existing CC (>1year) U shouldn't need any other documentations This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 23 2009, 04:01 PM

@aeronlim, So what is there to beli?! A lot of stuff ah?! I promised my sister a broiler for her new house so I intend to get it at the TreatsFair. She also wants a microwave but I told her I'm not sponsoring that one PS: I'm still in my meeting and my next is at 8PM @ 1U so it doesn't look like I'll be dropping by MV now - don't want to get caught in traffic This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 23 2009, 04:38 PM

@aeronlim, Yeah I would assume so but I don't have TP points, just MR. I will be checking it out though when I get there tomorrow afternoon. @alexwsk, But the card is a temporary one right? The actual card will still be delivered to your home? And assuming I wanna buy something with this new card, then how wor?! I wanna get that free gift? I kiasu..! @ashraful, U can consider the Amex Gold Credit Card. It gives 0% interest on instalment plans till Dec 2009. Quite timely for your purchases too @David83, There was a TreatsFair in KL too last year; also at MVEC. @Michael_G, Maybank has their annual TreatsFair - it's sort off like a mega sale where U can use your points collected to redeem stuff. Also, during the TreatsFair, they will (at least they're supposed to!) approve cards within 2 hrs. U can get more information about the TreatsFair from http://www.treatsfair.com/v1/

@alexwsk, U mean I need to use that approved card to make my purchase? I don't think I can/want to stand there waiting for 5hours! And, I can't go till about lunch time *oh no - i can only imagine the wait*
Ah well.... am going to post office in a bit to collect my parcel. Let's hope it's from SCB *smiles*
Some forummers have informed their MBB + Amex Gold CC has a combined CL.

@wassap, These days, Visa & MC makes no difference; one is as widely accepted as the other. Go for whichever that takes your fancy

@vampbreak, U aren't missing out much - sorry I haven't contact Concorde; been bz lah @vin_ann, So did U make it to MV? I do assume there is a possibility in getting the card approved. I'll share my experience in a bit @btr999, It may just be possible - put in an application and U'll know. Updates @ TreatsFairJust back from TreatsFair - nothing much really! but if you're into electrical items there's quite a few merchants selling those. I didn't end up getting anything for myself but mom and sis both had a shopping spree on me *gulps* Used up about 200k points. I also put in my application for the Amex Gold CC but after 2 hours the card remain unapproved hence I spoke with a very kind CS and told her my situation [I'd wanted to spend the RM50 to purchase something in order to get the FOC gift] and since I brought my 2 month old nephew along, I used him as an excuse and she allowed me to make the purchase with my existing Amex Platinum and will still give me the CC. Just before leaving the Fair, I checked on my approval again and it was approved but I was just too tired to check if the card was ready so I guess I'll just leave it there and wait for MBB to send it to me; though if I'm not feeling too lazy I'll just go pick it up either tomorrow or Sunday when I'm at MV. I am however interested to know what my CL is on that new card. For those who can't make it; there's really nothing much so you're not missing out on much.

@muscaa, I believe that is possible except I didn't check if my CC is ready. I know it's been approved but I had too many things to carry so I decided NOT to check if the actual physical CC was ready

@hafiz_control, U will need to bring all necessary documentations since U do not have an existing CC. Please check any banks website or MBBs website to check the criteria for the Platinum CC ur aiming to apply for.

@Shinichi, The free gift is really no big deal but I figured since I was there, Y not just go get it @Putraskyline, There's a counter to check approval of CC and another area to pick up your CC so I just went to check before I went home but as I mentioned, I was carrying just too much stuff and with the baby crying, I decided to not go check if the physical CC was ready.

@vin_ann, Really!! The fella said it retails at RM69.90! Gee.. luckily I didn't get it. Anyhow, I didn't spend up to RM300; bought several things for the family using my points except this 1 rice cooker which sis said not worth to use the points to claim so we paid cash for it. Am sure people don't mind if U spend them eat Baskin Robbins, right? This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 25 2009, 01:06 PM

@vin_ann, I didn't get any SMS from MBB either so I don't think that's something U need to worry about. Then again, I was pretty sure they wouldn't reject my CC application lah If U wanna treat me, I don't mind meeting U there tomorrow; but I prefer to have Siew Lung Bao @ Din Tai Fung

@sense_less143,
1) Best overall credit card in Malaysia - there's no best card; it really is depending on ones' needs and requirements. 2) Best company to get a credit card from in Malaysia (based on company reputation, ect) - again it's v much up to personal preference. 3) Best cards for rewards - from points 'give back' perspective, go for MBB cards. 4) Cards to avoid/ worst cards - AEON Credit Cards. 5) Best rates for credit card repayment - am not familiar cause I pay in full each month and U should too cause U don't want to be getting urself into debts with a CC 6) Best cards and worst cards for: a) Students - students do not qualify; need to be >21 + there's a minimum income criteria. b) Low income earners - like I mentioned, there's a minimum income criteria to meet c) Medium income earners - NA d) High income earners - NA 7) Cards with annual fee vs cards without annual fees: pros and con - most cards are eligible for AF waiver except for Amex Platinum Credit Card/Amex Platinum Charge Card/SCB Visa Infinite; and probably a couple more which I'm not too familiar with 8) Cards with long 0% installment - at the moment, Amex Gold Credit Card has this promotion till Dec 2009 9) Best 'no-nonsense' credit card (cards with no weird t&c like have to swipe at least twice a month or will get a penalty fee) - Direct Access Free For Life Credit Card is indeed FFL 10) Benefits on credit cards worth having/considering (collect Frequent Flyer miles, petrol, ect) - again goes back to what you're looking for.
@cenkudu, If Ur not sure U could always refer to ur statement; it's always written somewhere at the bottom how to write if you're paying by cheque.
