Actually, it was hye who reported his issue with AEON CCs some time ago - probably in CC Thread V6 or V5. Need to do a search - but basically he had issues with payment; he paid but they said he didn't pay, etc.

Just to update all. I was at the TreatsFair again this time to purchase a Sony LCD TV with a friend - I didn't bother signing up for the Sony Card because I know it wouldn't be ready today hence I wouldn't be able to qualify for the 10x points either.

Also, the Amex Gold CC I applied on Fri afternoon still wasn't ready for collection so I just left and told them to send it to me; the CS was kinda apologetic but there's nothing he can do - initially he did ask if I could pick it up from 1U and I told him no!! LOL.

Aside from that, I got the free gift that they were giving away for anything U spend >RM300 on Amex Cards. Nothing else to report except it's helluva crowded there.

Admittedly I didn't get an SMS from MBB re my CC but since I was there today I thought I'll pick it up and expected it to be ready but it wasn't. I seriously hope Pos Malaysia doesn't pull a fast one on me this time and make me go pick it up from them or I'll just cancel the damn Amex Gold CC - just too much trouble!

This Frequent Traveller Option thingy is the MR reward program right? If it is, then U'll haf to pay and the RM50 is not waivable. However, the Gold Amex CC should come with it; no need for additional payment mah.

TP and MR are 2 different reward points system. TP used for MBB cards whilst MR are for Amex cards.

During the TreatsFair, MR points are treated as TP points so I guess U could say it's the same but that's only applicable during the TreatFair period.

Most IT merchants do NOT accept Amex *gulp* Machines accepts Amex and there's no additional surcharges.

Maxis accepts Amex, not sure about DiGi though but if U use the Express Auto Pay I think should be no problem lah.

Perhaps someone who applied for the card had bad handwriting hence the person sending SMS sent to the wrong phone number, or keyed in the number wrongly.

I just checked my M2U and I see the Amex Gold CC added to it, but what's weird is that I see 2 Amex Gold CC with 2 different account numbers added to my account!! Ah well.. at least it shows RM0 ! Damn.. I should have gone collect another free flask! LOL

Just wondering if U applied for the Amex Charge Card @ TreatsFair cause when I asked about it, they told me they aren't accepting the application there, hence I didn't bother putting an application in.

Nmlah.. I think I'll keep the Amex Charge Card for next year.

I guess the damn salesperson who put my application in wasn't doing a good enough job - didn't get my card, got 2 different accounts on the same card.. Ah well.... like I said, Maybank Malaysia Boleh!

I guess the person who was attending to me just wasn't interested; plus I'd oredi filled up a phone pre going to the TreatsFair; obviously there was some other salesperson's chop so she had to refill in another copy for me. I just signed and left it as that - the process took less sthan 5 mins.

I sort off complained to the fella at the collection booth (he's from the 1U Maybankard Centre) and whilst he did apologise profusely, he did help me fill up a request form in which I'd ask for the CC to be sent to my house. So now all I do is just to wait but I'm not so kan cheong lah.

You're right - I'm not a fan of Charge Cards, in fact I don't have any but I figured since it's free Y not - I certainly don't mind the extra laptop bag [though I did see a rather nice Timberland one during the TreatsFair but I didn't get it cause I just have too many!] And I don't think the bank can actually issue you 2 of the same cards hence my case is a rather weird one. I definitely didn't put in 2 applications, just 1 but somehow my M2U reflects 2 cards *weird*

This Sony card is a new one plus it's Limited Edition for FIFA2010. I guess once their rights with FIFA ends that'll be no more of this card.

I don't know if it's going to be a permanent feature but based on MBB's website it
s just 2X points for Sony products. The 10x points only applicable at the TreatsFair.

U shouldn't believe everything U hear read - need to exercise your own discretion too sometimes

It's because Ur holding co-branded cards hence it's possible but otherwise Visa & MC has a policy in which U cannot hold 2 Visas from the bank; as in U cannot have Classic + Gold Visa. Ur Gold Visa will override the Classic and that will subsequently be cancelled. This applies to MC too but apparently it doesn't apply to Amex cause Amex Platinum CC holders have applied and received the Amex Gold CC

Yes Amex allows it. I hold the Amex Platinum CC and have just applied for the Amex Gold CC [of which in my M2U I see 2 of the same card!] but there are forummers here who holds both these cards.

If U've been following the talk here, the benefits from the Amex Gold CC seem to outweigh the Amex Platinum CC hence ur definitely not missing out on much
