@MilesAndMore,
Ah.. well that's just chasing after extra/additional cards. Not my cuppa tea @Gen-X, So you're saying if I had RM1m in FDs with a bank, I could request for RM1m CL?! In that case, RM40k start off CL on HSBC Premier Card is nothing considering U need about RM250-300k to become a PB with HSBC. @Optiplex330, U can pay up more than what is required that way U have "extra" credit for the month. The other way to go around it is to get the bank to give you temporary increase in CL. Last November/December I needed to purchase some stuff which exceeded my total CL on my Amex Credit Card. I contacted Amex and asked for a temporary increase in CL of 20k. They did however ask me for which period I wanted the increase and where I was going to spend the $. I had the details hence it was granted immediately on the spot with just 1 call made to them. |

@li_ping,
Different banks have different preferences but a forummer here once did mention he got an upgrade and his reported income was >RM60k. |

@vin_ann,
Act, I believe co-brand cards have a "lower" requirement. Take your OCBC Robinson Platinum CC as an example, as well as the UOB ONE Platinum too This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 20 2009, 05:00 PM |

@MilesAndMore,
Er.. it's small matter and it doesn't mean that as a PB with those banks, U have minimum RM300k FD in the bank; it could be RM300k in an Investment Portfolio or something Also, most of these people probably don't need so much CL - and if they need extra they could always put in a request and I'm sure the bank will look into it This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 20 2009, 05:52 PM |

@vin_ann,
Ah well.... just try to see what information U can get but I don't believe in applying for so many CCs just to get short term gains |

@vin_ann,
Er.. the Amex Gold that gives 5X points on Petrol is a CC so this is the right thread. @David83, Haf U done manual calculation to see which CC gives the best petrol rebate? |

@brutus,
No I never bother about payment date because my #1 rule is to ensure I have sufficient $ to pay for the item I'm buying; hence the cash is always at hand and so when the bill comes, I'll have the $ to pay for it. @kilazilla, There's no best card out there; it really depends on what U want. My sister applied for the SCB Character cards because she liked having those cartoon characters on her card. Some others are Platinum collectors hence collects all available Platinum CCs |

@Fala,
It should be usable but forummers in the past did meantion U will need to make payment at the counter instead of at the pump for Amex Cards. |

@GHz,
I suspect it's SCB's SOP for CC applications. I received an SMS too; but I also read about forummers complaining about not hearing from SCB. |
