@li_ping,
Different banks have different preferences but a forummer here once did mention he got an upgrade and his reported income was >RM60k.

QUOTE(Michael_G @ Jul 20 2009, 04:39 PM) i call the lady in the alliance bank and ask why my card got rejected. she said she have to find out from someone and take sometimes and not 100% i will get the answer cause P&C. @.@ if need to re-apply need to wait 3months. is that true?? @.@ by the time younique promotion over already. hurm... weird le i dunno why they declined my application. i got no late payment cause i got no house loan, car loan and no credit card yet. Standard answer from the banks. At least the lady entertained you as normally they will just brush you away with the "Management decision to decline your application and the answer is P&C". Different banks got different policy for reapplication period - no need to get so rejected just because 1 bank decline you. I suggest you to apply other banks, maintain good customer standing and after 1 year you can use your card as reference to apply for other banks. It takes years to build a good credit history with banks .... not overnight unless you got plenty of cash to lock into FD. FYI, it took me about 3 years before SCB finally accepted my as their cc customer. Used the card for a while, cancel it and then reapply after some time later. So if you got declined for your 1st card, it is not the end of the world. Alliance bank is just one of the 9 anchor banks in Malaysia not to mention HSBC, Citibank and OCBC as the foreign contender in the cc market. (You have 11 alternatives not inclusive of BSN, Bank Rakyat and Bank Islam's cc offerings) Walk away if a bank decline you and apply somewhere else. It is that simple, you shouldn't have problems if you don't have bad debts somewhere. |

@vin_ann,
Act, I believe co-brand cards have a "lower" requirement. Take your OCBC Robinson Platinum CC as an example, as well as the UOB ONE Platinum too This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 20 2009, 05:00 PM |

@MilesAndMore,
Er.. it's small matter and it doesn't mean that as a PB with those banks, U have minimum RM300k FD in the bank; it could be RM300k in an Investment Portfolio or something Also, most of these people probably don't need so much CL - and if they need extra they could always put in a request and I'm sure the bank will look into it This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 20 2009, 05:52 PM |

Ah well.... just try to see what information U can get but I don't believe in applying for so many CCs just to get short term gains |
