Ah well.. I'll update all when I hear back from SCB. If I don't, I'll just put in my application for Amex Gold CC and Amex Gold Charge

@Reventon,
Just got my Amex bill with the RM800 AF reflected on the bill. Looks like I need to call them and see if I can get a waiver or will have to just ask them to downgrade my account to a Gold card. Good luck on your SCB Visa Infinite application; unfortunately, based on the criterias they're asking for I don't qualify |

@vin_ann,
Yes.. just make sure the MBB Amex U get is the one with the MBB logo on the card; that one entitles you to TP and not MR. |

@zenquix,
Thanks! Will check it out in a bit but it's really a pain (so slow!) to download their pdfs! Also, normally there are goodies at the TreatFairs right? |

@David83,
Hey thanks for the information! Btw I just checked it out, it looks like they'll be giving on-the-spot approval for Amex too! Looks like I could just go get my card applied there; plus if I spend RM50 I get some freebies. Eh btw.. just wanna check with U people - since the TF is going to take place from Thurs-Sun - are prices going to be different like in PC Fair whereby things MAY get cheaper on Sun or what? --Added-- I've gone through the entire catalogue; nothing seems too interesting but they can't be putting everything into the catalogue I'm sure. Anyhow, they also didn't state amount of MR points needed to make redemption. This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 13 2009, 10:56 AM |

@Gurdian,
It's not necessary to have a MBB Account to apply for an MBB CC |

Yes U could do that too. Btw I read it's a 2hr processing time; am not sure if they'll issue temporary cards or not then *shrugs* |

@tiger63,
Yes somehow in the M2U system, the points U accumulate under Amex Credit Card reflects and show as TP but when you go make your redemption U won't be able to merge the 2 points. I'm not sure what the process is for online redemptions but u could try and let us know the outcome. @vin_ann, I only need to apply at the TreatsFair, don't care whether I get the card then or not because I've got my Amex Platinum to use remember? |

@donpapachino,
I don't think MBB will have time to do upgrade requests. You're better off applying for another CC or do the upgrade request before the TreatsFair. @winner, U sure upgrade requests will be entertained at / during the TreatsFair? Anyhow, no harm trying This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 14 2009, 11:21 AM |

@donpapachino,
Btw if it's an upgrade, U wouldn't need to cancel the old one cause it'll automatically be cancelled. |

@creed,
Just tell the CC company U tried to use the card but after several attempts it failed. That way, they will send you a replacement card FOC. Don't lah go tell them the card is torn or something @muscaa, No need to terminate lah, just tell them the card is not usable. @zazaza2009, Make police report?! That's a bit over the top IMHO. |

@creed,
U know the trick now *smiles* In fact, I'm thinking, maybe I should ask Amex to send me a new card before I cancel it *smiles* - that way when U people ask for pictures, I can have a brand new shiny Amex Platinum to show off |

@vin_ann,
Er.. HSBC / DA got. OCBC I'm not too sure. @zazaza2009, When the hologram gets cacat then just request for a new card; better still... don't use the card U haf and just keep it in the safe; that way, it'll be in great condition This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jul 15 2009, 10:28 PM |

@vin_ann,
The last I checked (dun remember which thread V5 was it) the CS and my RM gave me 2 different set of information. Then, there was no admin charges but someone later reconfirmed to say there were admin charges with HSBC. PS: My RM told me don't have admin charges; maybe she meant the Premier CC which is what I hold. The CS on the phone told me there is - so I'm really not too sure. For DA I'm sure there is because I personally called and spoke with the CS. As to uhm.. the other bank U asked, I'm not a member so not sure. |

@vin_ann,
I believe it's a 1 line item. Do other banks actually put in a 2nd line to tell u X amount charged for Admin charges? I thought it's always embedded in. That's the case for Citibank + Amex. |

@vin_ann,
Possibly but it could also be possible that HSBC doesn't charge the admin fee; cause like I said that's what my RM told me. On paper however, it is stated in their FAQ that there are actually charges; whether it's charged, we tak tau ! *shrugs* |
