haha, from the screenshot it seems like the viewing distance is still not too far from the screens what? but at least during gaming u dont have to strain ur eyes. my screen is just 2 feet from my eyes and sometimes i felt like a cow. XD

i was at LYP with a friend last friday.. surveying for LCD's.. im planning to buy this week, while he was planning to buy in 1-2 months time..

i went there having done quite a bit research on the prices and specs and what not, while he didnt..

i had my eyes on an AOC 2236Vw which was 16:9 or the Acer 23incher which was within my budget of around 500 bucks..

when we got there.. he kept on saying that the lcds had somehow gotten smaller.. and that an AOC 2219V which was a proper 22incher and had 16:10 seemed bigger and better.. and if he was to buy an lcd, he would get that one..

what he said made sense, as the 16:10 looked much bigger.. the 16:9 ones looked so short and long.. i guess i fell for all the marketing gimmick of the FULLHD..

ive been using my trusty 17inch non wide LCD for 2 years.. i guess some black bars wouldnt make a difference eh...

anyways, currently set on the AOC 2219Vg which is a 16:10 monitor.. but would like to ask, what other 16:10 LCD's out there which are around RM500 +/-RM30 can i get?

AOC and Viewsonic... Personally, i'll go for the Viewsonic, very bright and brilliant display for a TN panel LCD.

Yes, it's a full 24" (frm the measurements i made myself) with full HD and 1080p.

How does it scale to low-res movies in full screen?
Movies which has resolution of only 640x480.... or worst.

it creates visual interference
with the black bars if play low-res movie..

I could live with black bars.... since either ways 640x480 is a 4:3 ratio.

I have a ton of older animes in crappy-ass quality which are in RMVB with a bitrate of sub-200kbps.
