Hi guys... I have a Iphone 3g that from US i think...

i have updated it to 3.0 version and already did a jailbreak on it. I've tried to unlock it with ultrasn0w 0.9-1 and it seems doesnt work, still didnt get any network signal yet. Tried a few times and it's still the same. Saw quite some of people are having this problem too after unlock with ultrasn0w 0.9-1.

Heard that ultrasn0w 0.8 just work nice on it, but I can find the source for it. Does any one have it ? or other unlock thinggy other than ultrasn0w for iphone 3g 3.0 firmware

I have jailbreaked and unlock ... but still cant acess to maxis network

try with another SIM from other telcos such Celcom/Digi and see whether does the problem persist.

i do hope that yours will not be another example of isolated cases where ultrasn0w does not work.

If you bought this from local sellers, very huge chances that the phone comes with some extra bonus, i.e soldered internal turbosims.

actually is my gf's sister bought from china....

Try already every method in forum.. have been dones all kind of things in these 3 days... still no hope

like what Hanxz has mentioned, it might come with a soldered turbo sim (regardless of the phone's origin, China/US etc.) inside hence you're unable to unlock it via ultrasn0w.

Hi guys, I would like to know if anyone has the Iphone 3gs American set. I just want to know if there is any problems with the Reception or anything because the 3g version of this phone has reception issues. Please do let me know if anyone has it.

hi guys....i'm a noob when it comes to jailbreak. I tried to jailbreak my 3gs using purplera1n and after four times, I only have this prompt "waiting to reboot" or sumthing. Have to press the power and home button to shut down. What am I doing wrong here? Itunes is open when I click on purplera1n.

BTW...i'm using maxis unlocked set. Running purplera1n on vista 64bit and itunes 8.2

purplera1n won't work on OS 3.0.1. try using redsn0w. follow the guide properly and make sure you did not missed out on any steps.

guys, need more help now...i cant get a signal yet again...its been all day already, switching on n off airplane mode...switching on n off d phone itself..reinstalled ultrasnow..restore..agaiinnn..still, no luck getting d signal..

i read back then that there are possibilities dat you might have an embedded turbosim inside your iphone, how do i confirm this n what are d symptoms if im having probs with turbosim embedded in my iphone... ?

Added on August 16, 2009, 2:17 pmi guess i found d culprit n yes..there is an embedded turbo sim in my phone.. DAMN ! i already carefully trimmed all the wires connected to the board n now..i got a "No Sim" issue.. i notice there dat there's a copper been taped. i guess it is so dat it wont connect to the iphone sim tray n connect with the Turbo Sim instead.. now everything's related to Turbo Sim been removed, im stuck with No Sim error...i think i need to "patri" back the iphone sim tray to the motherboard then i think it will solve everything.. but i dont have the equipment needed.. anyone here can help me out ?

Im having problem with unlocking the iphone 3g 3.0
it is a locked set, i think it is from austrlia. after i erased everything, and upgraded to OS 3.0, it ask me to insert correct sim to activate the phone. i ignore that, and continue with the jailbreaking process with resn0w 0.8 . after jailbreaking it, i can go to the iphone homescreen. and then i run cydia. i cant add any sources or download anything from cydia because it cannot detect my SIM CARD. which is a maxis sim. how am i suppose to unlock the phone if my phone cannot go online??

I have bought an Iphone 3GS (unlocked by Maxis so that other carrier can be used). If I jailbreak using the firmware that is downloaded from herem will the phone still remain unlocked so that I can use Celcom without using ultrasn0w. or is there a maxis unlocked firmware or something.

no such thing. firmwares are universal and the unlocking process is completed towards the last step of restoration, where iTunes attempts to connect to the database and check your IMEI against the database.


after that your iPhone will be activated and you are good to go use.

dude, i3G comes with WiFi right? use WiFi to access Cydia, add the repo, download ultrasn0w, unlock, DONE.


unlock and jailbreak are two different thing. once the phone is officially-unlocked (ie. your Maxis set), it will stay unlocked forever, regardless of the no. of times you jailbreak or any version of firmware you used during jailbreaking/updated to.

just proceed with the jailbreaking. you'll still be able to enjoy utilizing your 3GS on any carrier. that's the beauty of officially-unlocked sets. hassle/worry-free.

does it mean ok i got iphone 3g 3.0.1 firmware i jailbreak it with redsn0w?
wat if i jailbroken it wrongly or miss out some of the step?
it wont lock and i can jailbreak it again? btw my phone could be use at every carrier means digi boleh celcom boleh does it refering to wat u said?
sounds complicated if can i try to jailbreak myself 1st if cannot or failed den i baru go shop ask ppl to jailbreak it for me

Im having problem with Iphone 3G

Set from : AT & T Set (Locked Set)
Unlock : yes - successful
Jailbreak : yes - sucessful
OS : 3.0.1

Problem : Call Drop or Lost Call almost everyday 9/10 call

Can only answer call/talk about a minute.. then
people cant hear what i say.. but i can hear what their say..


Try to restore and jailbreak with another pc or labtop... (vista,Xp and Mac)
but still got the same problem...

Please help me... really tied and fed up ;(

and about the apps if i copy from my fren comp i juz drag onto itunes apps there rite?
does the jailbreak procedure was as similiar and same with the 3.0?
