Other Information/Remarks : I wanna ask about push notification. How can I find out if my push notification works or not? Anyway to try it out? Will Maxis charge me for it? And the iClarified tutorial on how to fix push notification in this thread points only to iPhone 2G. Does it work for iPhone 3G too?

what is the difference between Jailbreaking with purplerain and ultrasnow? for example Unlocked Iphone 3Gs

ooops, after further reading i understand better. Say i want to JB my Iphone 3Gs, which will be a better option? purplerain or redsnow? pros and cons?

there is no pro and cons.. coz both osso perform d samething which is Jailbreaking d iphone.
jailbreaking with purplerain will be much simple than redsnow....

Firmware 3.0.1 has been released. redsn0w 0.8 and ultrasn0w 0.9 can be re-used. For more info, refer to the first post.

I have jailbreak my iPhone 3G on OS3.0 using RedSn0w but no signal on my celcom carrier. Later update again using firmware iPhone1,2_3.0.1_7A400_Restore (ipsw), and my the itunes did not recognise the SIM card where it says that the card did not appeared to be supported. And my iPhone screen as below and only for emergency call. Please help.

is your phone officially-unlocked set or locked? if it's locked, you will need to jailbreak with redsn0w, and install ultrasn0w to unlock it. read the first page for more info.

Mine is locked US set. How do I proceed to jailbreak when the itunes did not recognise my sim card and unable to restore the iphone from itunes? You mean there is another way. Thanks.

it's okay. it can be done. just re-jailbreak with redsn0w, install Cydia only and download ultrasn0w. further instructions and guide on jailbreak can be found here.

since your phone is a locked US set. it will need an AT&T sim to activate it aka access into the phone.

but you can activate it via redsn0w. that's why you'll need to re-jailbreak. follow this guide.

once you've done so, you'll able to access the phone, but you can't access your Celcom network yet since it's still locked.

that's where you'll need to download ultrasn0w from Cydia to enable the phone to be used with Celcom or any other network other than AT&T.

you don't need to do that. here's what you need to do:

1. Download iPhone 3G 3.0 IPSW from here.
2. Jailbreak with redsn0w, follow the guide here. (install only Cydia)
*when asked to select firmware, select the 3.0 one
3. Download & install ultrasn0w from Cydia, guide is available here.
4. Reboot and you're done.

The problem that I have is I cant get to the itunes device pages that can restore. It only shows the SIM card is not supported. Any other ways beside getting AT&T card to restore. Need help. Even I cant operate the iPhone where it shows only for emergency call.

jailbreak it with redsnow n download ultrasnow from cydia to unlock it...
